About the Role:

We are looking for a Software Architect with extensive experience in designing scalable software systems and backend architectures using .NET or Java. This role involves high-level technical decision-making, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring the technical integrity and evolution of backend systems. Domain experience in healthcare is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design enterprise-level backend systems and scalable APIs.
• Define technology stack, coding standards, and design principles.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical architecture.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with .NET or Java.

• Expertise in microservices, cloud-native architecture, and design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, API security, and systems integration.
• Experience in system design, documentation, and architectural diagrams.

Preferred Skills:

• Deep understanding of the healthcare domain and its compliance requirements.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with frontend stacks and full-stack application design.

Skills:

• Expertise in Python 3 on AWS serverless
• Experience in AWS serverless stack Appsync, Lambda, Cognito, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, SQS, S3, Code commit & Code Deploy.
• Proficient in modern microservice-based architectures and methodologies.
• Experience in a database technology, preferably No-SQL such as AWS DynamoDB.
• Build human-centric UX with us using technologies like React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and CSS-in-JS.

• As a Senior Software Engineer you will work closely with the Tech Lead, and the rest of the engineering team to build and scale a data-driven platform. This role will act as a great springboard to accelerate career growth & transition into a Tech Lead level role.
• Your primary focus will be the development of server-side logic, building new services and APIs, developing core business logic, supporting the maintenance of current APIs, reviewing work, and improving the performance and reliability of our systems as we rapidly scale our product and organization.
• An effective Senior Software Engineer will be a self-motivated learner; a highly creative engineer having obsessive attention towards detail and thoroughness.

Must Haves

• You’ve been building web applications professionally for 5+ years
• You’re proficient in PHP 7, Laravel, and PostgreSQL
• You possess strong OOP and design pattern knowledge
• Familiar with modern engineering practices: Code Reviews, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, etc
• You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability and experienced with TDD (Test Driven Development)
• You’ve the ability to build RESTful APIs
• Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support team, and fellow engineers is not a problem for you
• Well versed with the fundamentals of computer science and distributed systems

Nice-to-haves

• FrontEnd experience; have built applications in either: React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte
• Startup experience, preferably a tech startup
• Open Source contributor
• You have experience with other programming languages -- e.g. NodeJS, Python, Ruby, Go, C, etc.

Mentor To Go is an android and web based platform to help students improve their work readiness through self-learning sessions, personalised mentorship provided by mentor professionals from a range of careers, and work experience opportunities.

The technology platform implements  functionalities such as: screening surveys of mentors and mentees, training content for mentors, matching through an algorithm, and mentorship through the delivery of structured activities. 

The application technology architecture comprises of the following:

o   a Python Django web application with NGinx and Gunicorn

o   A React Android and Web app

o   Rest APIs which interact between the Android app and the Django webserver

Minimum requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably  CS  or related discipline  
• 3+ years experience working in Unix/Linux environments building web and mobile applications
• Proficiency in developing and deploying cloud based Python/Postgresql applications preferably using frameworks such as Django
• Experience with design and development of moderately complex software projects
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with version control software such as Git

Desired  requirements 

• 5+ years of overall relevant work experience
• Experience building apps using React/React-Native
• Basic understanding of AWS cloud
