Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead – Java with strong software engineering fundamentals, a deep understanding of Java-based backend systems, and proven experience leading agile teams. This role involves a balance of individual contribution and technical leadership — mentoring developers, designing scalable architectures, and driving the success of product delivery in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Java-based applications and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to define technical solutions and translate business requirements into scalable software.
• Guide and mentor team members in best coding practices, design patterns, and architectural decisions.
• Drive code reviews, technical discussions, and ensure high code quality and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues and implement long-term fixes and improvements.
• Advocate for continuous improvement in tools, processes, and systems across the engineering team.
• Stay up to date with modern technologies and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Java backend development with expertise in Spring/Spring Boot and RESTful services.
• Solid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), system design, and design patterns.
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers or taking ownership of modules/projects.
• Experience with AWS Cloud services (EC2, Lambda, S3, etc.) is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Responsible for understanding functional and business requirements and translate them into effective code
• Provide support till deployment of code into production.
• Ownership for ensuring code optimization, problem diagnosis, and on-time delivery
• Implement solutions as per the pre-defined framework /guidelines and adherence to processes
• Finding an optimal solution for the problem statement
• Conduct peer code review.

What candidate should know about:

• Excellent hands-on experience with Node.Js, Express.Js, JavaScript
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
• Excellent hands-on experience with MongoDB, Mongo aggregation, MySQL
• Ability to build REST services, Authentications, MVC applications
• Excellent Object Oriented Programming skills and ability to write modular, secure, scalable, and maintainable code
• Experience with Elastic Search, Redis.

Job description 

• Lead design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications & back-end  services demonstrating service-oriented architecture. 
• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable APIs, services, and systems within the  platform. 
• Choose the right Data Structures, tools, and tech stacks and do high-level design with guidance. 
• Build, develop, mentor, review code and coach junior team members. 
• Extensive programming experience with cross-platform development: Java/SpringBoot,  Javascript/Node.js, Express.js or Python 
• Extensive knowledge of ElasticSearch, MongoDB or Cassandra, Redis, SQS and data  streaming (Spark, Flink, Kafka streams, storm, etc.). 
• Well versed in Kafka Understanding cloud native technologies such as Docker and  Kubernetes, capable to cover full development lifecycle including CI/CD 
• Experience in use of source code management system like GIT, bitbucket and build tools  like ant, maven, Gradle or make. 
• Take great pride in Code quality and developer productivity. 
• Put in Microservcies architecture in place that paves road for scalability, efficiency,  observability, and availability. 
• Build (and open source) data processing, storage and fetch systems at the petabyte scale  with the lowest cost/GB while still responding in milliseconds at the 99th percentile. 
• Write algorithms and services to influence personalisation and recommendation from a  real-time recommendation engine for both home feed to surface most viral videos +  video e-commerce 
• Build machine learning pipelines using Kinesis,Spark/Flink/TensorFlow etc 
• Agile methodologies, Sprint management, Roadmap, Mentoring, Documenting, Software  architecture 
• Proven experience in handling large infrastructure and distributed systems Liaison with Product Management, DevOps, QA, Client and other teams Your Experience Across The Years in the Roles You’ve Played 

• Have total or more 7 - 9 years of experience with 2-3 years in a startup. Have B.Tech or M.Tech or equivalent academic qualification from premier institute. Experience in Product companies working on Internet-scale applications is preferred 
• Thoroughly aware of cloud computing infrastructure on AWS leveraging cloud native  service and infrastructure services to design solutions.
• Follow Cloud Native Computing Foundation leveraging mature open source projects  including understanding of containerisation/Kubernetes.
