Backend Developer

We are looking to expand our existing Python team across our offices in Surat. This position is for - Senior Software Engineer.

The requirements are as follows:

1) Familiar with the the Django REST API Framework.

2) Experience with the FAST API framework will be a plus

3) Strong grasp of basic python programming concepts ( We do ask a lot of questions on this on our interviews :) )

4) Experience with databases like MongoDB , Postgres , Elasticsearch , REDIS will be a plus

5) Experience with any ML library will be a plus.

6) Familiarity with using git , writing unit test cases for all code written and CI/CD concepts will be a plus as well.

7) Familiar with basic code patterns like MVC.

8) Grasp on basic data structures.

Job Description Back-End Developer, Portfolio Management System Dedicated Engagement — Hurricane Capital Role Snapshot Engagement: Dedicated resource, employed/contracted through Transient.AI, invoiced to Hurricane Capital. 100% committed to Hurricane's work — not shared across accounts. Level: Mid-Level back-end developer (not junior, not principal). Location: Remote. Onshore or offshore, but must work U.S. East Coast hours. Type: Full-time, dedicated. Start: As soon as possible. MVP target: end of year. Works with: Rob and Rehan (Hurricane), plus Transient-side engineering for code review. The Work Hurricane Capital is building a portfolio management system from the ground up. This is fully Greenfield — the infrastructure does not exist yet, so you are building it, not maintaining someone else's. The immediate focus is Bloomberg connectivity and the Python back-end that market data flows through. You will be a dedicated engineer for Hurricane, working alongside Rob and Rehan in real time. Because the codebase lives on the Transient side and is reviewed before merge, you will also coordinate directly with Transient engineering. What You'll Own ● Build back-end services and APIs in Python from scratch for the portfolio management system. ● Implement and troubleshoot Bloomberg API connectivity for market data ingestion. ● Design and maintain the data layer — Postgres and SQL, with Snowflake as the cloud data warehouse. ● Work with Azure cloud infrastructure as the system requires. ● Collaborate live over Teams during East Coast hours to co-work and troubleshoot with Rob and Rehan. ● Coordinate with Transient engineering on code review and merges into the shared codebase. What Good Looks Like ● A working MVP of the portfolio management system is delivered by end of year, built in parallel with existing workstreams. ● Bloomberg connectivity is completed and stable, with market data flowing reliably through the Python APIs. ● Hurricane's work moves in real time — no waiting on cross-account turnaround, because this capacity is dedicated. ● Code clears Transient-side review cleanly, with trust established during hiring so there is no gating delay. Must Have ● Strong Python for back-end and API development. ● Hands-on Bloomberg API experience. ● Ability to work U.S. East Coast hours consistently (non-negotiable — daily live collaboration depends on it). ● Database experience: SQL and Postgres. We are looking for experienced Odoo Developers with good development skills in Python. Candidates should have hands-on experience in end to end implementation of the custom modules in Odoo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and deploy ERP/ web applications using OpenERP/ Odoo.

• Customize/ develop various modules such as Accounting, POS Sales & CRM, inventory, Purchasing, , Invoice, Website, Google map, Warehouse, MRP, HR, etc.

• Customize various modules and integrate services/ products ranging from payment gateways to hardware devices with Odoo.

• Understand Functional requirements from clients. Provide GAP analysis and transform them into technical requirements.

• Functional knowledge of ERP modules like Accounting, Stock, CRM, Inventory, HR, Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, E- Commerce, and Payment gateway.

• Experience in Migrations, Odoo end user training.

• Knowledge of OOP concepts, SQL, HTML and JavaScript.

• Experience in hosting on AWS or other cloud service providers

• Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into business solutions.

• Develop and deploy ERP modules from scratch

• Adopt new and emerging technologies to provide solutions to client needs. Cater to time difference need

• Identify technical issues and provide solutions

• Testing support.

• Develop and customize reports based on client s specifications in the modules like Accounting, Inventory, Manufacturing and HR. Work on Odoo's internal BI reporting tool for live reports

• Strong familiarity with the Odoo framework is mandatory.

• Should have a solid knowledge of Python and programming concepts. Contribution for Open Source Projects will be advantageous.

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of OOPS concepts, Persistence, Threading.
• Good understanding of version control system (GIT).
• Knowledgeable in data structures and algorithms.
• A background in Engineering with sound oral and written communication skills.
• 6+ years of experience working on the server-side.
• Exposure to API designing, scalable architecture, and thorough understanding of systems.
• Great database modeling skills.
• Working knowledge of Databases, both relational (such as PostgreSQL) and in-memory database (such as Redis).
• Good understanding of web stack and how all the pieces fit together.
• Experience with open-source projects.
• Experience in designing interactive applications.
