Job Title: Primary Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Primary Design Engineer will perform engineering activities to design primary electrical systems/equipment within the HV/EHV electricity grid, switchgears and power plants. This role involves ensuring that projects are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, and schedule commitments while adhering to international and local quality standards.

Responsibilities include needs analysis, primary system design, conducting site surveys, creation

of the technical documentations and taking the necessary responsibilities as a project design team

member. The role requires collaboration with internal teams, external vendors, and end customers

to ensure seamless integration and functionality of electrical design solutions.

Desired Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with specific focus in HV/EHV substations, powerplants and switchgears.
• Prior experience working with utilities in the UK or Europe, providing familiarity with regional regulations and operational practices, which is advantageous for immediate deployment to assignments.
• Knowledge of design tools like AutoCAD for SLD’s, layouts, sectional views, cable schedules, earthing systems.
• Proficiency in primary equipment sizing such as Aux. TR, Diesel Gen, cable etc.
• Familiarity with factory and site acceptance tests from design to approval phase.
• Good communication skills with leadership qualities for team working culture, ability to generate techno economic reports with apt writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design primary systems for HV/EHV substations and power plants, ensuring reliable operation.
• Prepare the technical design documents, including general arrangement drawing, layouts, single line diagrams, sectional views, panel arrangements, cable schedules , earthing systems and technical specifications.
• Carry out site surveys, collection of the information of the current situation of the existing substations or power plants.
• Present the technical design of the primary system drawings, detailed specification etc. with the customers and stakeholders for approval.
• Possess sufficient knowledge and/or experience to work safely in an HV/EHV substation, adhering to HSE regulations and industry standards such as OSHA or equivalent guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
• Prepare load lists for auxiliary services such as AC distribution system, DC distribution system and UPS/Inverter distribution system.
• Possess familiarity with industry standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, and local regulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in analysis tools like ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar software.
• Have substation, power plant and MV switchgear knowledge is mandatory.
• Possess knowledge of load flow analysis and power system.
• Possess knowledge of renewable energy integration, energy storage systems, and smart grid technologies.
• Calculate the equipment sizing such as transformer, diesel generator, cable etc.
• Provide technical support to site teams during construction works to ensure proper functionality within electricity grid.
• Ensure all engineering documentation such as basic design documents, system configurations, and standard operating procedures are accurate.
• Work closely with project managers, secondary design engineers, civil design engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of primary systems/equipment.
• Be accountable for identifying the correct Point(s) of Work and protecting the Working Party or any Third Parties through the provision of Special Operating Conditions or Restrictions.
• Promote and enforces safe working environment by enforcing and supporting adequate HSE measures in all activities undertaken by himself & the team, follows ethics and compliances as per company guidelines.

• 2+ years of experience in Front React Native development
• Experienced in using Mobile Views on iOS and Android
• Good understanding of MVC frameworks

Work Schedule: 6 days a week (including weekends), any 1 fixed weekly off.

11am-7pm / 12pm - 8pm - Mon to Fri

10am to 7pm / 11am to 8pm - Sat n Sun

Responsible for test case specification, automation and data generation for the various products.

- Develop test automation framework components and test cases using best object oriented programming practices

- Design and implement functional, performance, scalability, stability, and stress tests- Analyze results, identify functional and performance issues and write clear and detailed bug reports

- Work in an agile, rapid development and prototyping environment where effective communication is paramount

Desired Skills and Experience :

- 2-5 years of experience in writing test automation cases

- Knowledge of manual as well as automation testing

- Experience in front-end web application test automation (e.g. Selenium Web-driver)

- Experience in industry best practices in SW development processes: Unit testing, OO design, code reviews etc.

- Experience with either functional or performance testing and analysis

- Experience testing complex REST APIs

- Strong programming and SW design skills in Scala, Java, C# or other OO language
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
