- Toffee Insurance wants to insure a billion lives by using product, design and technology-led innovations. Contextual products that are accessible, affordable, easy to understand, and backed by a brilliant user experience could reduce a significant financial risk for a majority of Indians.

Some thoughts on your role :

- We really do not care about your education and your years of experience.

- What really matters is that you have proven your passion through your career arc thus far.

- Were you able to evolve a product from merely an idea or a hypothesis, and persisted through multiple iterations of the design to achieve a product-market fit or whatever success metric you decided at the onset?

- We are ultimately a customer experience company. So, you will be the primary voice of product design inside and outside the company, sharing its work, evangelizing its success, articulating its vision and values.

- You may have to blog and speak at conferences and interact with customers directly at all times.

- Your design instincts, process and mentorship ability of a small team will be tested through face to face interactions with Rohan (our CEO) and Nishant (Head of Product).

Specific Mandates :

- Proven history of creating useful and usable products.

- Passionate about impacting the lives of users in emerging markets.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to design for platforms such as desktop and mobile, Android and iOS.

- Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively, oral and written.

- Obsession with end-users - who they are and how they use the product to craft the best possible experience for them.

- Able to function independently and in a team environment with solid collaboration skills.

- Knows the art of negotiation to arrive at a balanced view of what is and is not a priority from a business and technical point-of-view.

- Preliminary screening of the candidates will be done using the resume and portfolio.

- A phone interview will be followed by onsite interviews at our Gurgaon office.

- The salary will have a competitive base component along with a percentage of ESOPs as appropriate.
