Roles and Responsibilities:

• Arrange and participate in discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment.
• Delivering products in an iterative, agile software lifecycle Desired Competencies / Experience.
• Develop detailed project plan to track progress, Knowledge of managing projects with use of risk management, quality management & scope change management.
• Responsible for managing timing, resources, budget and quality commitments of programs. Manage software budget and resource plan of scrum teams in alignment with project needs.
• Has strong technical knowledge and expertise in resolving technical issues. Ensure project dashboards are up to date for stakeholders review Innovate and identify measures for quick and flawless project delivery. Assess technical skill requirements and ensure that resources can meet those requirements by creating learning opportunities.
• Lead technical project teams as required, including engagement with third parties, product managers, and internal partners, through all stages of the SDLC.

 

 

Education/Qualification:

BS/MS in computer science or prior experience as a software engineer

• Certified Scrum Master
• PMP or equivalent - nice to have to apply.

 

 

Job Description

• Planning with the product advancement group to finish item thoughts 
• Utilizing different programming to plan the items. Has hands on coding experience across different technology stacks. Willing to experiment & explore across technologies and identify the best suited
• Performing constant market analysis of competing products
• Testing item models to control configuration blemishes 
• Talking with delivery team to work out financially savvy producing methodology and solutions. 
• Ability to ideate, code, setup a prototype and on approval design the entire application as per business requirements.
• Complete knowledge of Full stack development. .
• As a product engineer, our Super Hero is expected to participate in all parts of development life cycle. Create user friendly, cost effective product design.
• Ability to research w.r.t features, UX, functionalities and finally testing before being rolled out.

Job Requirements

• Familiarity with all stages of product development life cycle.
• Extensive experience in writing codes, deep understanding of platform architecture, ability to design & develop solutions & knack towards problem solving.
• Deep engineering skills in various technology stacks, ability to handle big data concepts, keen to work in IIOT & machine data domain.  
• Ability to effectively present ideas & communicate with team members within & outside organization, ability to write routine reports and correspondence and ability to speak confidently & effectively before groups of customers or other Donaldson colleagues.
• We are happy to have a technology geek take this position as long as s/he is able to align the product roadmap to organization’s growth roadmap.
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Effective written and verbal skills in English Language are mandatory.
• This is a global role and the candidate may be required to travel to Smart Ship Hub’s different delivery centres.

Experience Requirements & Educational Qualification

• Atleast 5 years of proven product engineering experience. Must have: managed product life cycle, knowledge of product roadmap, extensive coding experience.
• Should be open to working in Disruptive Application Design domain, IIOT, Smart Sensors, Big data

Must have Bachelor’s Engineering / Masters Engineering degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ E&TC / Automation / Instrumentation Engineering or its equivalent.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

The Ideal Candidate with his Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering, Automation, or an adjacent field with experience in Maritime Systems is also welcome. Alternatively experienced electrical officers with maritime experience/ Naval experience with exposure to the above areas are welcome

Prior work experience in the Maritime Industry preferably with strong competence in some or all of the below is desirable :

• Marine Automation, Marine Electrical Systems
• Communication Systems, NAVCOM systems
• Experience in working with PLCs, RTU, Gateway, Edge Devices/ Data Loggers
• Systems operation and maintenance
• In-Depth knowledge of maintenance, commissioning of Marine Electrical and NAVCOM Systems Ability to carry out in-depth troubleshooting and guide vessels for effective case resolutions
• Work Experience as an Electrical/ Technical Superintendent will be a Plus
• Prior experience in the review of the vessel's drawings and machinery specification a must
• Carry out vessel inspection visits as required, Supervise retrofit installations during digital automation & Smart Ship Platform implementation.

• The candidate will be driving global delivery, conducting ship inspection to identify vessel machinery from which data signals can be fetched.
• The candidate must have past experience in data telemetry from various machinery such as Main Engine, DG Sets, Boiler, Flowmeters, Emission, Emissions, Ballast, etc.
• Candidate must have experience of working with data signals RS485 NMEA, 4..20 mA, 0..10 V, etc.
• The candidate will work in close coordination with technology specialists, data scientists, and chief engineers with experience in vessel and voyage performance management.
• Prior experience with various control systems, especially for: data telemetry, gateway configuration, working with different PLCs such as Siemens, Alan Bradley, etc.
• Candidates with experience in only navigation & communication systems are also welcome.
• Candidates will be working on cutting edge technology & new age maritime business practices to come up with solutions for the global maritime industry.
• Any experience across electrical systems of the vessels and awareness of various machinery parameters are welcome.
• Awareness & knowledge of power generation, automation systems, reefer container monitoring

, experience in PMS is an added advantage.
