Role Description:

MERN Stack Developer (On-Site – Rajkot)

This is a full-time, on-site role for a MERN Stack Developer based in Rajkot. The developer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining seamless user experiences using technologies such as MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js.

Daily responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features; writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code; debugging and optimising applications; and ensuring application scalability and security.

• Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in MERN stack development
• Proficient in: MongoDB/Postgres, React, and Node.js
• Front-end expertise: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Strong understanding of: RESTful APIs and web services
• Familiarity with: Git or other version control systems
• Experience with cloud services: Especially AWS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills
• Language Requirement: Candidate must be able to understand and communicate in Gujarati
• Location: Must be based in Rajkot or nearby areas
• Work Type: Full-time, work from office only (no remote option)

Core Backend Skills

• Node.js Mastery
• Deep understanding of event loop, async patterns (Promises, async/await).
• Experience with frameworks like Express, NestJS, Fastify.
• Writing scalable APIs (REST), middleware, and modular code.
• Database Expertise
• SQL/Postgres – schema design, complex joins, indexing, query optimization.
• Knowledge of transactions, isolation levels, and migrations.
• Basic familiarity with ORMs (Sequelize/TypeORM/Prisma) and raw queries.
• Architecture & Design
• Ability to design backend systems
• Good understanding of API versioning, caching strategies (Redis).

Frontend (Average Skill Expected)

• Comfortable with React (or Nuxt/Vue) for building and maintaining UIs.
• Basic understanding of state management (Redux, Vuex, Pinia).
• Familiarity with component-based architecture and UI libraries (Material UI, Tailwind).
• Can debug UI issues but not expected to be a design/UX expert.

Other Expectations

• Code Quality – Writing unit tests (Jest/Mocha), code reviews, and maintaining clean architecture.
• Problem-Solving – Strong data structures and algorithmic skills (not as intense as SD3/Architect).
• Collaboration – Able to mentor juniors, break down tasks, and work closely with product and QA.
• Performance & Security – Understands security best practices (OWASP) and performance profiling.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Build scalable and loosely coupled services to extend our platform
• Build bulletproof API integrations with third-party APIs for various use cases
• Evolve our Infrastructure and add a few more nines to our overall availability
• Have full autonomy and own your code, and decide on the technologies and tools to deliver as well operate large-scale applications on AWS
• Give back to the open-source community through contributions on code and blog posts
• This is a startup so everything can change as we experiment with more product improvements

Some specific Requirements:

• Atleast 2+ years of Development Experience
• You have prior experience developing and working on consumer-facing web/app products
• Hands-on experience in JavaScript. Exceptions can be made if you’re really good at any other language with experience in building web/app-based tech products
• Expertise in Node.JS and Experience in at least one of the following frameworks - Express.js, Koa.js, Socket.io (http://socket.io/)
• Good knowledge of async programming using Callbacks, Promises, and Async/Await
• Hands-on experience with Frontend codebases using HTML, CSS, and AJAX
• Working knowledge of MongoDB, Redis, MySQL
• Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Operating Systems
• You've worked with AWS services in the past and have experience with EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, CloudFront, S3
• Experience with Frontend Stack would be added advantage (HTML, CSS)
• You might not have experience with all the tools that we use but you can learn those given the guidance and resources
• Experience in Vue.js would be plus

Responsibilities:

 Work with development and product team to ideate software solutions

 Design client-side and server-side architecture

 Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design

 Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications

 Write effective APIs, Ability to quickly pick up new areas in the product and write optimal

code taking into consideration the security and performance aspects of the product.

 Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

 Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

 Create security and data protection settings

 Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design

 Write technical documentation

Skills:

 Proven experience of around 4-7yrs as a Full Stack Developer.

 Should be a full stack developer who can code on cutting-edge technology stacks including

Laravel, Nodejs, Express js, Python, React, Angular, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase, Elastic Search,

Docker, AWS etc. for our clients.

 Experience developing desktop and mobile applications

 Familiarity with common stacks

 Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML,

jQuery)

 Strong Knowledge of multiple back-end languages and on frameworks or platforms (Phython

/ Express JS / Django etc), API / Serverless services, DB Schema Definition.

 Good to have stakeholder management, team leading, team mentoring, code management

under critical problem

 Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX

design

 Excellent communication and teamwork skills

 Great attention to detail and analytical skills.

 Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field
