About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced software engineer with strong technical and communication skills who has developed full stack web apps, created solid APIs and beautiful interfaces for consuming them in user friendly apps. Focusing on details and well written self documented code are essential for this position. You can expect to collaborate with a solid team of designers, product managers, developers and testers on a daily basis. You must be experienced in building highly scalable and resilient systems that can meet our customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Improve and create new lead capture domain models.
• Build backend & Frontend API features and architecture.
• Work cross-functionally across our platform, experience, integrations, payments and marketplace teams.
• Drive performance through benchmarking and optimization
• Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems from end to end
• Collaborate closely with our leadership team including engineers, designers, and product managers to build new features and products
• Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and systems you will encounter.
• Work on 1 to 2 products.
• Create and improve lead capture tools like funnels, websites, forms, surveys, social media
• Architect and build backend & Frontend APIs and features

Your Core Skills

• 4+ years of experience in a full-stack environment.
• Proficient with various programming languages and tools such as but not limited to Javascript, TypeScript, Vue.js, NodeJS, and GraphQL
• Must be able to work with a team and collaborate remotely.
• You have an entrepreneurial mindset, are eager to take on different roles when necessary and know how to navigate a start-up environment.
• You are fulfilled by being a generalist working on both the frontend, backend, and anything it takes to solve problems and delight users and take pride in working on projects involving a variety of technologies and systems.
• Ability to stitch together many different services and processes together, even if you have not worked with them before.
• Hold a great deal of empathy for your team and users, you are a steward of crafting great experiences.
• Have great communication skills and can thrive in a highly collaborative environment when working cross-functionally with many stakeholders.
• Driven by product quality, and innately know how to balance trade-offs with time to launch new features.
• A keen eye for design and love to think about user flows and user experiences.
• Must have experience with HTML5 and CSS3

Additional Skills

• Experience with the Nuxt.js framework is a plus.
• Experience with MongoDB profiling and query optimization.
• Using CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap and TailwindCSS
• Experience working in the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) ecosystem.

Qualification: BCA/MCA/B. Tech (CS/ECE)

• Developing eCommerce sites on the Shopify platform. Shopify theme development and customization, private apps, Shopify Liquid templating language, Shopify JS APIs (storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections etc.), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery & Rest API's)
• Responsible for the development of the website on Shopify as per the design handed off by the UI Designers. Knowledge of Installing & Customizing the new Shopify theme.
• Deliver optimized, fast loading, and super responsive website. Understand the requirements from briefs, do thorough research, and based on previous experiences -propose the most suitable solution platform with an ETA.
• Extending Shopify functionalities to the next level using storefront APIs, liquid programming, meta fields, etc.
• Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in Shopify sites Creating responsive website designs
• Integrating third-party and platform-supported apps in the sites.

To be a geek at Merkle|Sokrati you need to know how to build scalable and high-performance systems. Nothing at Sokrati is small. We start with a proof of concept that demands a traffic rate of 10M+! To achieve any of this you need to understand Distributed Systems, Distributed Caching, High-scale Databases. And we possess the skills to create software that makes this entire heterogeneous system function together even if it runs on 100 boxes. A system that is so widely used cannot sustain any downtime and hence it uses elegant high-availability techniques to survive an outage. Not many startups can say “been there, done that”!

• Implement solutions for broadly defined problems
• Drive best practices and engineering excellence
• Be involved in the development of code in object-oriented languages like Java etc and build large scale robust distributed systems
• Be involved in full fledged product development.
• Build New Features, Push them to production fast.
• Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack
• Build services or APIs which will for easy application integrations at Sokrati to develop applications faster.
• Build scalable/fault-tolerant backend systems that process and analyze billions of data points every day.

You'd fit right in if you have:

• 2-4 years of experience in building successful production software systems
• A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BE/BTech or MS in Computer Science)
• Experience developing software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability.
• Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, C/C++) and open-source technologies (Linux, Spring)
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced, agile and in an ownership and results oriented culture
