Technical Architect

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities 

•  Frontend: Develop React Native applications (TypeScript, Redux), shared components/micro frontends and robust navigation/error patterns.  
• Backend: Design and implement Java 17+, Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, persistence (JPA/Hibernate) and API security.  
• Security & Auth: Implement OAuth2/OpenID Connect/JWT, biometric SDK integrations, secure token handling, input validation and OWASP controls.  
• DevOps & Cloud: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and deployments on AWS/Azure.  
• Quality & Collaboration: Work with SDET and QA on automated testing; participate in code reviews, design sessions and sprint ceremonies; uphold risk & controls.  

To be successful as a Vice President -Engineering Lead, you should have experience with:

We are looking for a Java Application Developer with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Must have experience in the Retail domain.

Java, Springboot, MVC, JSP, Postgres SQL and Oracle Skills are required.

AWS knowledge is a plus.

Should be willing to travel to the client's location whenever required.

● Deliverable: (30 days) Own a feature; possibly being paired with another engineer. (60days) Own and drive a new initiative. (90 days) Bring that initiative to production.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Expert proficiency in Java/Kotlin, Kafka/Pulsar, SQL, Docker and kubernetes.
• Overall 4+ years of experience as Java full stack developer using any modern frameworks.
• Strong knowledge on Data structure and Algorithm knowledge
• Previous experience working in ReactJS/AngularJS (2+ years)
• Knowledge of Analytics and LookerML would be added plus.
• Exposure to cloud environment AWS.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks including Junit.
• Startup experience is strongly desired.
• You learn quickly, you’re adaptable and versatile.

• Nice to have - Real-world experience in large scale, and high availability implementations.
• Experience developing web services using REST and SOAP approaches.
