Role Overview 

As a Software Craftsperson III, your impact is felt at an initiative/pod-level, solving problems with high autonomy, technical depth, and ability to influence team practices. You promote a learning culture within your team; encourages curiosity and simplification.  

At this level, you are expected to apply feedback effectively, mentor others, and contribute meaningfully to team and pod-level impact. You provide timely, trend-based feedback that improves team outcomes; and creates impact by leading up and down.

From refining requirements to reviewing and refactoring code, you’ll pair with AI to explore solutions faster, catch issues earlier, and raise the quality bar continuously. Responsibilities 

Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of an initiative, independently managing production readiness gaps and escalations. 

Design and deliver features of end-to-end, balanced scope, quality, and maintainability. 

Identify technical or product issues beyond the immediate scope of work. 

Identify process waste using DevEx and DORA principles and drive improvements. 

Support estimation, vertical slicing, and MVP discussions. 

Drive initiative-level improvements in flow and quality. 

Communicate effectively at the appropriate level of abstraction with both team and client. 

Provide timely, trend-based feedback. 

Lead through ambiguity by clarifying priorities, aligning stakeholders, and keeping the team focused on outcomes. 

Promote a learning culture within the team. 

Mentor engineers to raise team performance. 

Shape team practices related to code quality, tooling, and process. 

Use AI to accelerate design, testing, and delivery. 

Requirements

What We’re Looking For 

Must have: Should have strong specialization in Python (around 3+ years of experience) along with solid working knowledge of the other technology (at least 2 years of experience).

Good to have: PHP, React.js and Tyepscript

A curious and constant learning mindset that looks at tech to an end to solve problems.

This is a hybrid role that requires in-office presence three days a week.​

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive development experience as a Software Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Strong hands-on development experience in Node JS and React.
• Hands-on Experience with RESTful Webservices/API and web-based applications is preferred.
• Experience implementing solutions using Agile delivery methodologies.

Job Requirements

Must have:

• Experience working on Node.js with Typescript and Express.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB would be preferred.

Nice to have:

• Drive design and architecture around key systems that are part of the product. Setup design philosophies and implement them in a way that ensures they are easily followed.
• Setup toolchains and technical stacks that are intuitive. Implement these toolchains in a way that is unobtrusive for other developers and ensure it stays that way.

• Full Stack Developers with experience in Typescript or Nodejs, React or React Native, Rest APIs
• 3-8 years of product development experience. Preferably in a product development environment.
• Experience with working with Web Development Stacks (HTML, Javascript, CSS, etc)
• Experience with working with Backend Server stacks (SQL databases, Web Servers, API Endpoints etc)

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• You have a strong passion for building things from the ground up with all the challenges and unknowns, and enjoy the process of solving problems that are new and unique.
• Experience with React, React-native, Typescript and similar Frontend Technologies.
• Experience with PostGres, MySQL and similar DB Technologies.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL and similar API technologies.
• Experience working with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Experience with open source languages such as, Java, Objective-C/C++, Swift, Java, PHP, Python etc.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• You have been building production web applications for 5+ years and know the systems from top to bottom
• You know SQL and have significant programming experience on the frontend with React
• You have a BS/MS/Ph.D. in a scientific field or equivalent experience
• You want to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers
• Comfortable working with a 100% distributed engineering team, collaborating on GitHub, Slack, Zoom, etc. in the open and as a self-starter.

Bonus points

• You have backend experience building microservices
• You’ve contributed to open-source libraries and actively participate in the development community (blogging, meetups, tweeting, etc.)
• You have experience building interactive data visualizations
• You have worked in TypeScript, Java, Go
