Your key responsibilities:

● Build systems to add features across our messaging platform

● Create scalable microservices that will help support our impressive growth

● Propose scalable, maintainable and cost-effective solutions

● Estimate the effort required to develop and implement new features

● Develop and execute effective testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests,

and end-to-end tests, to ensure software quality and reliability

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

What you’ll bring

Required:

● Excellent software engineering skills in Java for backend services

● A strong focus on testing, with a customer-first mindset

● Experience with multi-threaded architectures, web services, caching, and event-driven

pipelines.

● Practical experience in deploying code in a modern programming environment using

tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

● Strong emphasis on testing and familiarity with Object-Oriented Design and design

patterns.

 Experience in Core Java, Spring Boot. 

• Experience in microservices. 

• Extensive experience in developing enterprise-scale systems for global organization. Should possess good architectural knowledge and be aware of enterprise application design patterns. 

• Should be able to analyze, design, develop and test complex, low-latency client-facing applications. 

• Good development experience with RDBMS in SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle or DB2 

• Good knowledge of multi-threading 

• Basic working knowledge of Unix/Linux 

• Excellent problem solving and coding skills in Java 

• Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills. 

• Should be able to express their design ideas and thoughts

Software Engineer for Java

• Understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Strong with Java programming and Java Servlets.
• Proficient in API design and development using RESTful services (JSON, XML etc)
• Source code management using GIT
• Knowledge in Mongo DB and SQL or any equivalent No-SQL and Relational databases. 
• Experience working with Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery & HTML would be preferred.
• Experience in Node JS would be an added advantage. 

Good to Have Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in using Java/J2EE tech stacks
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced internet start-up environment.
• Experience in technical mentorship/coaching is highly desirable.

• Enabling application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities
• Being able to lead/support UAT and production roll outs
• Creating, understanding and validating estimated effort for given module/task, and being able to justify it
• Addressing issues promptly, responding positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Giving constructive feedback to the team members and setting clear expectations
• Helping the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex bugs

Key Skills

Should possess hands-on full life-cycle development experience (architect, design, code, test, release) be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, client/server-side development frameworks and third-party libraries.

• Should be strong in data structures and algorithms. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Work with cutting edge technologies like Java 8, Scala, React, Akka, Docker, Puppet, and Salt
• Hands-on knowledge of Spring core, MVC, JPA. Working knowledge of Spring Boot
• Should have strong hands-on on one of the JavaScript frameworks: jQuery, AngularJS, ReactJS, and Vue.js.
• Willing to working with latest Cloud and Container technologies like AWS
• Experience with both external and embedded databases. NoSQL DB experience is good to have
• Implementing unit testing using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, etc.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with Maven (Other building tools Ant and Gradle are good to have)
