Sr. Software Engineer - Enterprise Systems

We are looking for a skilled Node.js software developer to work on and scale education ERP solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Node.js, databases, and ERP modules. Basic to moderate experience in PHP (Laravel/Core PHP) will be considered an added advantage.

This role offers the benefit of permanent work from home (6 days working).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Education ERP modules using Node.js.
• Work on end-to-end ERP features, including HR, exams, inventory, LMS, admissions, fee management, and finance.
• Develop and optimize REST APIs / GraphQL services and handle system integrations.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of high-usage ERP systems.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams for smooth feature delivery.
• Perform code reviews, follow best coding practices, and guide junior developers.
• Continuously explore and suggest improvements using modern backend technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Node.js .
• Working knowledge of PHP (Laravel / Core PHP)
• Proficiency in databases: MySQL and MongoDB (PostgreSQL is a plus).
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and third-party integrations (payment gateways, SMS, and email).
• Frontend basics: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery (React/Vue is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of scalable architecture and secure backend systems.
• 3+ years of overall experience, with at least 2 years working on ERP or large-scale systems.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in Education ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of HR, Exams, Inventory, LMS, Admissions, Fees, and Finance modules.
• Experience working on high-traffic or enterprise-level applications.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) is an added advantage.

• Stay informed of new tools, libraries, and best practices and share ideas with the team for continuous improvement of the toolchain and development process
• Support, maintain, and help document software functionality
• Work with other departments, stakeholders, and customers on software development, improvements, internal tools, and implementation issues

Basic Requirements:

• 5+ years of programming experience in developing web apps. Experience in developing mobile apps would be a bonus.
• Front-end development with technologies such as Javascript, Typescript, VueJS, CSS, Bootstrap, etc
• Strong knowledge of database modeling and design in RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Strong experience in API design, API Security, API Documentation and REST, GraphQL-based services
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture would be a bonus
• Have a self-directed work ethic with attention to detail and good communication skills
• API Integration and extension development for 3rd party applications e.g. Facebook, Google, etc

As a Full Stack Developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. Responsibilities

Creating Websites using standard HTML/CSS practices

Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions

Programming, designing and developing content management systems, web services/APIs, backend and administration system using PHP/MySQL/JavaScript and open-source Frameworks Eg Laravel, CodeIgniter, Zend, Yii, and Slim etc.

Design application architecture design and maintain MY SQL databases & Tablets 

Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications

Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software 

Write technical documentation

Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software

Requirements

Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role

Experience in web design and understanding of modern web designing tools like Axure, Marvel, or Figma 

Debugging, Troubleshooting and analytical and logical skills.

Familiarity with common stacks

Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XHTML)

Knowledge of Microservices Architecture

Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, AJAX), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a relevant field
