Sr Software Developer (Python)

Title: Senior Software Engineer – Python (Remote: Africa, India, Portugal)

Experience: 9 to 12 Years

INR : 40 LPA - 50 LPA

Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in Africa, India, or Portugal. Applicants outside these regions will not be considered.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 8+ years in software development with expertise in Python
• kubernetes is important
• Strong understanding of async frameworks (e.g., asyncio)
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django for microservices
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes/AWS ECS
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and IaC tools (CDK, Terraform)
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
• Exposure to GenAI tools and LLM APIs (e.g., LangChain)
• CI/CD and DevOps best practices
• Strong communication and mentorship skills

Responsibilities:

• Help define and create Backend architecture and deployment using Python- Django-AWS in an agile environment with lots of ownership and active mentoring

• Work with the Product and Design teams to build new features to solve business problems and fill business needs

• Participate in code reviews to create robust and maintainable code

• Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life

• Interact with other stakeholders for requirement, design discussions and for adoption of new features • Communicate and coordinate with our support and professional services teams to solve customer issues

• Help scale our platform as we expand our product across various markets and verticals globally

• Developing models and business logic (e. g. transactions, payments, diet plan, search, etc).

Skills:

• Minimum 4 years of industry or open-source experience.
• Proficient in at least one OO language: Python(preferred)/Golang/Java.
• Writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code.
• Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Experience working with AWS components [EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, ECS, Lambda]

• Work across all phases of application development including requirement gathering, coding, release, bug fixing, documentation.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers guiding them in their day to day activities.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop and deliver new features and enhance existing ones.
• Rapid prototyping (POCs) based on requirements.
• Test, debug and fix any functional or non-functional issues.
• Work with the architects to ensure feasibility of the design while ensuring all quality attributes are met.
• Participate in deployment and release activities.

• 5+years of relevant experience.
• Experience in leading a team.
• Expertise in Python, Django DRF, REST APIs
• Experience with Document DB, RDBMS and ORM.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean and testable code.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch is preferred.
• Exposure to AWS will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (ReactJS, Javascript etc) will be a plus.
• Strong team player who can work efficiently in a highly collaborative effort.
•  Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a team.

Requirement:

• Min 2-3 Year Experience. Preferably in the E-commerce domain.

We are hiring an experienced backend staff engineer for our Pramana team. Our Digital Pathology-as-a-service venture, Pramana is an in-line quality assurance software suite which for the first time in the industry, provides confidence to the labs for the accuracy and applicability of their digital assets while supporting industry-standard image formats.

Pramana’s whole slide imaging system is built upon the strong hardware expertise of former Spectral Insights (that nference acquired in 2020) and the strong software expertise of nference. Modular systems with Robotic automation have allowed Pramana to reduce the reliance on several technical staff. This will significantly reduce the total costs of ownership and is a more transparent model for Pramana’s clients.

Must have

• 5+ years experience with solid backend/engineering experience in C++/ Python
• Knowledge of data structures and an eye for architecture.
• Solid CS fundamentals, fluent in multi-threaded and asynchronous programming, and a strong inclination for architecting at scale.
• Excellent technical design, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Rapid prototyping worked on distributed systems at scale.
• Basic knowledge of SQL as well as NoSQL databases.
• Proficient in Golang/ Python, design, and concurrency patterns.

Good to have

• Proficient in writing unit tests and profiling and benchmarking golang applications
• Experience in maintaining protobuf contract
