Job Description:
As a Software Development Engineer at Jumbotail you will-
§ Be a part of our initial core team to design and develop our marketplace platforms from scratch
§ Work on building scalable backend platform for customer & seller apps, brands platform, demand
generation platform, supply chain & logistics platform, credit platform and several cross platform
software components
§ Participate in the process to fundamentally change the food and grocery ecosystem in India, and
impact billions of people through technology, mobile, and data science
Requirements:
An ideal candidate for this role is someone who has-
§ BE/BTech degree in Computer Science from a top engineering school
§ 3-5 years of professional software development experience
§ Strong problem solving skills and strong command on object oriented design, data structures,
algorithms and other computer science fundamentals.
§ Strong coding skills – professional experience in developing production-quality software in Java.
§ Expertise in Web Services, Service-oriented architecture, Databases, NoSQL, Distributed systems,
Cloud Technologies.
§ Extreme software engineering skills to design and develop low-latency, high availability, internetscale
web services
§ Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle and software engineering best
practices
§ Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
§ Demonstrated ability to own software design and development end to end from requirements to
launch.
§ Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

As a backend engineer, you will be responsible for building out the service layer that powers our frontend applications. You should have a solid understanding of software development lifecycle and software design principles. What you will do?
 Create technical plans of projects assigned to you.
 Come up with well-structured solutions to ambiguous problems and implement them.

 Provide technical direction on our various products and upcoming projects.
 Champion reliability and quality by using best practices in software engineering and modular design.
 Ensure all components are scalable, maintainable, and have in-built metrics instrumentation and monitoring

 Own the full release cycle from development to deployment
What you will need?
 3+ Years of experience as a software engineer working on backend applications.
 Advanced knowledge of Python (preferably, the Django framework) and relational databases.
 Experience with agile, test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated testing.
 Experience with building, modifying, and extending API endpoints (REST or GraphQL) for data retrieval and persistence.
 Experience with the full software development life cycle, including requirements collection, design, implementation, testing, and operational support.
 Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, decision making and influencing skills.
 Experience with scrum or other agile software development methodology.

Roles and Responsibilities:

● Follow due SDLC process for different phases of
development like design, development, unit testing,
maintenance
● Understand the requirements clearly from Functional
specs and future roadmap
● Write and update software design specs for the
solution
● Participate and invite peer review for design and
coding
● Support the automation requirements of continuous
integration and continuous deployments
● Handle customer escalations and special requests in a
timely manner
● Work with the rest of the team in a professional manner
and show ownership and commitment. 

Qualifications and Required Skills:

● 2+ years experience in Software development
● In-depth knowledge of database technologies (SQL and
NoSQL)
● Proficiency in Python/Django framework
● Experience building RESTful APIs and knowledge of
RESTful design patterns
● Well versed with the complete Software Engineering Lifecycle.
● Strong Software development fundamentals including OOPS,
MVC, General Algorithms, Design Patterns etc.
● Good debugging and problem solving skills
● Analytical skills.
