Job Overview :

We are seeking a Senior API Developer with strong expertise in Spring Boot Microservices and API Gateway technologies (Apigee/Azure API Management) to design, develop, and manage secure, scalable APIs for enterprise applications and partner integrations.

The ideal candidate will build high-performance APIs exposing business insights, analytics, and AI/ML services while ensuring security, scalability, and reliability.

Mandatory Skills :

Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Apigee or Azure API Management (APIM), OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), API Security, API Gateway, Microservices Architecture, Kafka (Preferred).

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Spring Boot Microservices.
• Build scalable microservices following best practices for resilience, performance, and maintainability.
• Configure and manage APIs using Apigee or Azure API Management (APIM), including authentication, rate limiting, traffic management, and analytics.
• Implement API security using OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), API Keys, and Mutual TLS.
• Collaborate with Full Stack, AI/ML, Solution Architecture, and Cybersecurity teams to deliver enterprise-grade integrations.
• Support external partner integrations and internal enterprise systems through well-designed API contracts.
• Optimize API performance, monitor usage, troubleshoot issues, and maintain API lifecycle, versioning, and documentation.

Required Skills :

• 6+ years of experience in Backend/API Development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
• Expertise in Apigee or Azure API Management (APIM).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, API versioning, and API lifecycle management.
• Experience implementing OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, API Security, and Authentication.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and Cloud-native deployments.
• Familiarity with Kafka or other event-driven messaging platforms is a plus.
• Excellent understanding of enterprise integration patterns and scalable API design.

Good to Have :

• Experience with Azure Cloud.
• Telecom, Banking, FinTech, or other regulated industry experience.
• Certifications in Apigee, Microsoft Azure, or Microservices Architecture.

As an engineering team member, you will :

- Work collaboratively with product, customer support and DevOps team to build, enhance, maintain, deploy and operate our systems.

- Work closely with the architect to continuously refactor the system architecture and design to meet the changing landscape triggered by technology changes and business growth 

- Work with the DevOps team to build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. 

- Ensure that development processes and deliverables always adhere to the mandates laid down for various certifications (PCI and ISO 27001 in particular)

We want to really emphasize Spring Boot (2+ years although 1+ if candidate particularly strong) Using Redis as a caching technology with Spring Boot would be a strong plus 

Using Redisson (a particular java client library that can be easily configured with Spring Boot) would be a strong plus 

Knowledge of event based messaging systems (Amazon SNS, Amazon MQ, or Kafka (in AWS) Data Cleaning tools and techniques in CSV and Excel 

Strong Knowledge of Spring Boot Dependency Injection and Configuration 

Experience with APIs for popular e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, Big Commerce, etc.) 

SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) Tools in the context of AWS. (Tools classified under DevOps) 

Experience with managing AWS EC2 VM instances and using AWS managed Services (like S3, MySQL, VPC/Networking, Lambda, etc) 

Performance Analysis Tools (Code Profiling) on Java VM and particularly Spring Boot 

Nice to Have: 

Experience with Cassandra or MongoDB with Spring Boot 

Horizontal Scaling with Spring Boot (considerations running multiple instances of Spring Boot instances) 

Experience with placing Spring Boot applications in Docker/Kubernetes container ecosystems (especially in AWS) 

As Java Developer at BRIDGEi2i, you will participate in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables of custom projects and products of BRIDGEi2i in Business Intelligence Applications. The role includes working closely with lead, testers, customers, project managers, designers.

• 4+ years of experience in core Java/J2EE
• Strong knowledge of one of the web application framework such as Spring 4, Hibernate

• Knowledge of web services (Restful) is preferred
• Knowledge of UI frameworks is an added advantage (AngularJS 2.0/4.0, Java script, HTML, CSS, JQuery, React JS)
