This person must have significant expertise in ROR, as well as be highly detail oriented and self-driven. Furthermore, they must be able to inspire and mentor others when the need arises. We are looking for someone never says “I do not know how”, or “I have never done that before” - rather a person that says how about we try this
• Architecting and designing scalable backend systems • Integration and development of various microservices • Creating unit tests using RSpec • Reviewing other developers code as well as suggesting improvements
• Algorithm development and general optimization • Setting up CI/CD pipelines • Collaborating with various stakeholders including QA, DevOps, PMs and other developers • At Least 4 years solid experience on Ruby on Rails, including at least one start to finish project where you were the lead developer or a primary contributor. • Solid understanding of deploying and maintaining Rails apps within the AWS environment. • Ability to set up workers and deploy across multiple instances. • Git experience, some would say you are a git master. • If I asked your previous co-workers about you, they would say you were a good team player 6 Months Deliverable: • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other software developers to deliver compelling user-facing products • Lead teams of developers in architecting efficient and reusable systems that drive complex applications across the stack • Create instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure availability/scalability during peak traffic times and implement solutions to maximize uptime • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues Requirements • A strong drive and sense of ownership of the challenges we take on, coupled with a team-oriented, can-do attitude • Working knowledge of standard CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis) • A professional proficiency in English • A systematic debugging and problem solving methodology • Minimum of four years of experience with Rails 4/5

Responsibilities:
● Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code.
● Integration of data storage solutions (may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores,
etc.).
● Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
● Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
● Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization.

Skills:
● Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec and Resque.
● Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances.
● Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
● Good understanding of server-side templating languages (such as Liquid, Slim, etc depending on
your technology stack).
● Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors (such as Sass, based on project
requirements).
● Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
● Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful.
● A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code.
● Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.

Experience &   Skills

● Expert at in RoR, Golang, NodeJS or Python. Good to have exposure to ML. ● Must have experience in cloud computing ● Operates independently with almost no oversight ● Is able to apply domain expertise to think critically and make wise decisions for the team, taking into account tradeoffs and constraints. ● Communicates tech decisions through design docs and tech talks ● Has delivered multiple projects with end-to-end engineering ownership ● Keeps track of new technology/tools and embraces them as necessary ● 12+ years of experience in product driven organization ● A Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering from a reputed institute (preferably IITs, NITs, or other top engineering institutes)

Must have:

Technical Competency: Must have in-depth knowledge of core computer science concepts with
practical experience of building large scale applications. Having experience of developing, deploying
and maintaining product level Web Applications is a must
Tools and Frameworks: ROR or similar web application development frameworks knowledge is a
must. Understanding of the entire production deployment cycle including Hosting, Load balancing,
CDN etc. Would be great to have Client and server side performance optimization techniques. Also
abreast of latest developments in this space
Management: Must be capable hands on technological leader. Shouldn't shy away from writing code
and getting involved in the project. Must be able to foster a healthy learning based dev culture
where each developer feels motivated to learn and code. Should aim to build the best dev team in
the neighborhood
Interpersonal Relationships: Must be skilled enough to be part of the Senior Management team,
ideating and working closely with Managers from other departments. Building trust based
relationships with the other managers by adding value to their processes

Visionary: Being aware of industry trends and constantly moving the company in the right
technological direction. Knowing the difference between a fad and a valuable technological addition
is key to choosing the right things to work upon

Must haves 

• At least 3 years of professional programming experience in Ruby on Rails.
