Lead/Senior Software Engineer - Backend (remote)

Role: Core infrastructure for two global applications.

Key responsibilities:

Heavy Data Lifting: Designing and maintaining complex MongoDB aggregation pipelines and executing high-volume bulk updates.

Systems Connectivity: Managing the lifecycle of Bridges, WebSockets, and REST APIs for global traffic.

Global Reliability: Troubleshooting performance regressions, managing SSL/TLS certificates, and optimizing AWS S3/EC2 resources.

Core Logic: Implementing server-side push notifications, custom payment flows, and background Cron orchestration.

Requirements (Must Have)

Production Experience: Proven experience managing backend services for live, high-traffic applications. (Must have)

Note: Learning projects, bootcamps, and online courses will not be considered.

Python Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in backend Python development. (Must have)

MongoDB Expertise: Deep knowledge of Aggregations and Bulk operations. (Must have)

AWS Proficiency: Direct experience with S3 and EC2 in a production setting. (Must have)

Infrastructure Logic: Ability to manage SSL/Encryption and optimize resource allocation (Cron vs. API). (Must have)

• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering

• Interest in writing complex, scalable, and maintainable backend applications
• Tech stack requirements:

Must haves

• Experience in building application server in Java (Spring / Spring boot) / NodeJS / Golang / Python
• Experience in using SQL databases and designing schemas based on application need
• Experience with container services and runtimes (docker / docker-compose / k8s)
• Experience with cloud paas (AWS / GCP / Azure cloud)
• Experience and familiarity with microservices’ concepts
• Experience with bash scripting

Good to have (Preferred)

• Preferred experience with org wide message queue (rabbitmq / aws sqs)
• Preferred experience with task orchestration services (apache airflow / aws step function)
• Preferred experience with infra as code (or system configuration) tools (terraform / chef / ansible)
• Preferred experience with build essential tools (make / makefile)
• Preferred experience with monitoring and tracing systems for performance / system / application monitoring (grafana + loki + prometheus / aws cloudwatch)

• You would be directly working with the co-founder & CTO who has built multiple companies before and has built large teams in large-scale companies like ThoughtSpot, Unacademy, etc.

Position details

• Fully remote.
• 5 days/week (all public and government holidays will be non-working days).
• No specific work hours (we will sync over zoom over the course of the day).

• 5-8 years of experience as a Java/J2EE developer.
• 1-3 years of experience with Angular / React is desirable.
• 1-3 years of experience in using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Thorough knowledge of server-side development.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
• Good understanding of web services (WSDL SOAP, RESTful).
• Hands-on experience in using Application Servers like WebSphere.
• Expertise in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• E-commerce domain knowledge is desirable.
• Prior experience in developing desktop and mobile applications.
• Familiarity with common stacks.
• Knowledge of multiple frontend languages and libraries, like HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery.
• Experience in implementation of Microservices
• Experience with AWS (S3, SQS, SNS, ECS, EC2, ALB, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.) is highly desirable
• Good understanding of Docker & Kubernetes is highly desired.
• Familiarity with databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgresSQL), web servers (Apache), and UI/UX designs.

Job Description
