About the Role: Software Engineer (Python)

We are currently looking for people to join our Engineering team where internet scale, reliability, security, high performance and self-management drives almost every design decision that we take. This role will be based out of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

We are looking for Software Engineers to help us build functional products and applications. Software Engineers responsibilities include participating in software design, writing clean and efficient code adhering to coding standards, guidelines & best practices for various applications, running tests to improve system functionality, performance & security and documenting design and code.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop robust and scalable server-side applications using Node.js.
• Utilize Python to write batch jobs and scripts for various automation tasks, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and other performance issues to maintain system stability.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance with coding standards.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge to foster a collaborative learning environment.

Must Have requirements

• Strong understanding of Node.js and its core concepts, such as event-driven. architecture, asynchronous programming, and callbacks.
• Proficiency in Python, with a strong understanding of its ecosystem, libraries, and frameworks.
• Proven 1-5 years of experience working as a Node.js/Python Developer or in a similar role.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong working knowledge in any NoSQL (preferable)or relational databases
• Good exposure to working on Linux/Unix systems.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git)

Nice to have requirements

• Proficiency in TypeScript to write scalable and maintainable code.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.
• Basic understanding of GoLang/Java as a coding language

Sonik Mobility is a brand of our company Azhar Engineering incubated at IIT-Madras Research Park, which is primarily focused on developing and deploying smartest, lOT enabled and the most user-friendly EV charging stations and semi-autonomous battery swap stations in India ranging from 3.3 kW to 22 kw.

We are a company founded by two graduates and friends namely Mohammad Safa Azhar and Preak Gupta from The Pennsylvania State University, USA and are the only company providing the dual solution of charging and semi-autonomous battery swapping stations under one roof.

The Position: We're looking for a Software Engineer/ Full Stack Developer to work on our application and integration with third party APIs.

Objectives:

We are looking for a Software Engineer/Back-end Developer to work on our cloud-hosted application & integrate with 3rd party APIs. This will include the following:

• Maintain and keep up-to-date our cloud-hosted application
• Collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure applications align with organizational goals.
• Oversee the performance of the application to ensure they're always running properly.

• Improve our overall application process and continuously find ways to advance our company vision.

Responsibilities: As a software engineer/ Back-end developer, these will be some of your responsibilities

• Work closely with our hardware integration team to integrate the application with our hardware.
• Ensure the application is hosted and fully functional on cloud (AWS).
• Work closely with NPCI for integration into our system via APIs.
• Carry out regular security and performance checks
• Assesses feasibility of design and project parameters within time and cost constraints.

Requirements:

• B-Tech/M-Tech in Computer Science/Electronics/Engineering
• Proven experience of 2-3 vears (professional or otherwise)
• Strong knowledge of programming languages such PHP, Python, C, or C++.
• Knowledge of API integrations with 3rd party applications/hardware
• Knowledge of software and hardware integration
• Experience with hosting applications on cloud (AWS or Azure)
• Working knowledge of software development tools and technologies
• Desired skills:
• Experience with Battery Management systems
• Experience with CAN
• Knowledge of OCPP protocol
• AWS experience preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Contribute individually to product solution development.

Job responsibility The Lead Developer contributes, to create a customer’s solution, in the building phase of the software development lifecycle. The Software Engineer is responsible for performing the detailed design of application and technical architecture components and classes in accordance to the specification provided by the Solution Architect, for coding of SW components, and for the early testing phases (component testing), and system testing support

Hands on experience in Java, Python, scripting
- Design, implement, deploy and support web-based applications and web services using server technologies stacks that include Java, MySQL
- Experience in Java/J2EE using web frameworks Play or Spring boot, REST API Development and ORM (JPA, Hibernate eBean etc.)
- In depth knowledge of Design patterns and Data structures
- Databases - MySQL, Oracle, SQL
- Solid understanding of concepts like Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, Message Queue, Caching, Distributed/Scalable Architecture
- Secure application development best practices, such as OWASP
- Document and maintain all design documents and involve in review process.
- Experienced problem solving and debugging skills.
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in Agile methodology is added advantage

• You’ve been building web applications professionally for 4+ years
• You’re proficient in NodeJS, TypeScript, MySQL, and MongoDB
• You possess strong OOP and design pattern knowledge
• Familiar with modern engineering practices: Code Reviews, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, etc
• You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability and experience with TDD (Test Driven Development)
• You have the ability to build RESTful APIs
• Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support team, and fellow engineers is not a problem for you
• Well versed with the fundamentals of computer science and distributed systems
• Frontend experience; (Good to have) Angular
• Start-up experience, preferably a tech start-up
• Open-Source contributor
• You have experience with other programming languages -- e.g., Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, C, etc.
• Passionate about/experienced with open source and developer tools
