Role Overview

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with 2 – 5 years of experience working on AWS-based production systems. This role strictly requires hands-on experience managing production databases (MongoDB / SQL).

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure with focus on availability, security, and cost.
• Deploy and operate Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and containerized applications in production.
• Manage and scale production databases (backup, replication, performance tuning, upgrades).
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Manage MongoDB or SQL in high-scale environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Handle production incidents, on-call support, and RCA.
• Automate ops tasks using Bash / Python.

Requirements:

• 2 – 5 years of DevOps experience.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins / GitLab CI / GitHub Actions / ArgoCD), Terraform, Linux and networking fundamentals.

Experience with MongoDB is preferred, though candidates with solid SQL database experience will also be considered.

●              Prototype and evaluate multiple solutions, often by experimenting with various vendors and tools available, to achieve the goals undertaken.

●              Rollout tools and processes with heavy focus on automation.

●              Evangelize and help onboard application development teams on the platforms provided by the infrastructure team.

●              Co-own the responsibility with application development teams to ensure the reliability of services.

●              Design and implement solutions around observability to ensure ease of maintenance and quick debugging of services

●              Establish and implement administrative and operational best practices in the application development teams.

●              Find avenues to reduce infrastructure costs and drive optimization in all services.

●              5+ years of experience as a DevOps / Infrastructure engineer with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)

●              Experience in working with infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc).

●              Strong Linux Shell scripting experience

Senior Software Engineer I - DevOps Engineer

Exceptional software engineering is challenging. Amplifying it to ensure that multiple teams can concurrently create and manage a vast, intricate product escalates the complexity. As a Senior Software Engineer within the Release Engineering team at Sumo Logic, your task will be to develop and sustain automated tooling for the release processes of all our services. You will contribute significantly to establishing automated delivery pipelines, empowering autonomous teams to create independently deployable services. Your role is integral to our overarching strategy of enhancing software delivery and progressing Sumo Logic’s internal Platform-as-a-Service.

What you will do:

• Own the Delivery pipeline and release automation framework for all Sumo services

• Educate and collaborate with teams during both design and development phases to ensure best practices.
