Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview:

The AI Research Intern will focus on natural language processing (NLP) and working with large language models (LLMs). They will assist in refining and testing the retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) system for CopilotGTM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and refining NLP models to answer customer queries.
• Research and implement improvements to minimize hallucinations in the LLM.
• Test RAG model configurations and provide feedback to improve accuracy.
• Work with the engineering team to improve real-time product recommendations and responses.
• Analyze datasets and fine-tune models for specific use cases (e.g., sales, compliance).

Skills Required:

• Strong understanding of NLP and familiarity with LLMs (GPT, BERT, etc.).
• Basic coding experience in Python.
• Knowledge of data handling, data processing, and model training.
• Problem-solving ability and eagerness to experiment with new techniques.

Preferred:

• Experience with libraries like Hugging Face, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, architect and develop advanced software solutions in a cross functional Agile team supporting multiple projects and initiatives
• Collaborate with product owners and/or the business on requirements definition, development of functional specifications, and design
• Collaborate on or lead development of technical design and specifications as required
• Code, test and document new applications as well as changes to existing system functionality and ensure successful completion
• Take on leadership roles as needed

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of software development experience using GoLang/Java programming language
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP/Pivotal Cloud Foundry/any private cloud) and containerization is required
• AWS - experience in extensive use of AWS offerings like Redis, Kafka etc.
• Experience with a micro-services architecture is a plus
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other Relational Databases
• Test-driven development mindset and a focus on quality, scalability, and performance
• Strong programming fundamentals and ability to produce high quality code
• Solid understanding of Agile (SCRUM) Development Process required

Basic Qualifications

Candidates for this role must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• At least three years of experience writing production code of increasing complexity
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, complexity analysis, data structures, problem solving, and object-oriented analysis and design
• Proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, C, C++, C#, Ruby, Scala, Python
• Experience refactoring code and evolving architectures
• Experience crafting unit, integration, functional and regression tests

 Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience developing in a Linux environment
• Experience applying service-oriented architecture techniques to production use cases
• Experience in developing secure, multi-platform mobile applications

Senior / Python Developer

We are looking for a Senior / Python Developers to join our engineering team and help us develop and maintain various software products. Your responsibilities include understanding the product very well, and lead the integration of this product into architecture.

To be successful in this role, you should have strong technical knowledge and solid experience of all steps of the software engineering process and the tools associated with those. You should be a go-getter, a clear communicator and a strong collaborator who works well in a team as well as the customer. You should want to do high quality work and produce output that you are proud of.  

• Good understanding of Python especially should have used file/directory access, data persistence, compression and archiving, cryptographic services, concurrent operations, networking and IPC, developmental tools etc.
• Good understanding of key differences in Python 2 vs 3
• Knowledge of lib2to3, six, python-future libraries. Compatibility idioms provided by these libs and their limitations, issues in using them as is.
• Knowledge of Python3 changes in data types especially str, bytes in Py3 vs str, unicode in Py2. Should be able to gauge, understand impact of this on data in transit/data at rest in a large project.
• Knowledge of using C extensions in Python code, modifying to run with Python3, Python 2-3 compatibility.
• Experience working with large python codebase.
• Working knowledge of mysql, Python ORM like sqlobject.
• Working knowledge of Common third party modules like cherrypy, falcon, gunicorn, etc.
• Good experience with basic python, no django/flask needed 
• Some code needs to run in Python 2, some in Python 3 and some in compatibility mode
• Issues for Druva are in ORM, marshalling, networking
• Need candidates having Understanding of basic data types, extensions of python 
• Data type conversion and networking is important 
• Internals of Python are important
