Senior Backend Engineer

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test low-latency, high-volume client-facing applications.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-scale, n-tier applications for the investment banking/capital markets domain.
• Implement microservices-based solutions using Spring Boot and other modern frameworks.
• Work extensively with Core Java 5.0 and above, Spring Framework, and CXF
• Optimize applications for multi-threading and high-performance server-side development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient solutions
• Work with RDBMS (preferably Sybase) to handle large-scale data processing.
• Develop and maintain applications on Unix/Linux environments
• Utilize enterprise application design patterns to build robust and scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring application stability and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud-based deployment.
• Expertise in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and CXF
• Experience in developing and optimizing applications for high-volume, multi-threaded environments
• Solid understanding of financial domain applications, sales, and trading platforms
• Proficiency in working with relational databases (Sybase preferred)
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to articulate and present design ideas effectively.

• Strong in data structure and algorithms
• Experience in Java, Express, API Design & DOM
• Understanding of component based design or other design patterns
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing & continuous integration
• RDBMS and NoSQL databases preferably PostgreSQL, MongoDB

Detailed JD: 

Responsibilities:

- Interface with product owners and software architects to review and finalize requirements

- Participate in the full SDLC including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support

of new features and applications

- Actively lead and participate in agile ceremonies (Standups, Refinements, Retrospectives, Planning,

and Requirement discussions)

- Communicate effectively, clearly, and thoroughly with the Scrum Team and Stakeholders

- Provide innovative solutions to complex problems

- Design, develop and modify software applications/systems according to specifications

- Develop technical documentation including services, object, and data model

- Create high quality code and perform code reviews

- Create unit and integration tests to ensure the code quality and functionality

- Proactively learn and share knowledge of technology and compare advantages and disadvantages of

alternative solutions/technologies

- Identify areas needing process improvements and see them through to resolution

- Support and coach other Developers, provide technical guidance

- Help onboard new team members

Tech Stack:

Java Developers (4-5 positions)

What qualities are we looking for?

• 3 – 8 years of experience in building web applications
• Excellent command over Data Structures & Algorithms
• Exceptional coding skills in an Object-Oriented programming language (Java)
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Technical Requirements:

• Working experience on JAVA, Spring Boot. (building web services)
• Working experience in building microservices and distributed systems.
• Working experience on using messaging queues RabbitMQ/Kafka is a plus.
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery,  Angular 5+)
• Excellent knowledge and programming skills in data structures, algorithms.
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB)
• Proficiency with Git
