Job Description

We are seeking a Moodle Developer with strong PHP expertise to develop, customize, and support our Learning Management System (LMS) for EdTech products. The role involves deep Moodle core development, plugin customization, and LMS integrations to deliver scalable and user-friendly online learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and customize Moodle LMS using PHP

Create and enhance custom Moodle plugins, blocks, and reports

Customize Moodle themes, UI, and UX

Integrate Moodle with ERP, CRM, payment gateways, and third-party APIs

Manage Moodle upgrades, migrations, and security patches

Optimize LMS performance, database queries, and scalability

Implement user roles, permissions, assessments, and reports

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues

Collaborate with product, academic, and QA teams

Required Skills

Strong experience in PHP with Moodle LMS

Hands-on knowledge of MySQL / PostgreSQL

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery

Experience in Moodle plugin development & customization

Understanding of SCORM, quizzes, grading, and reporting

Experience with REST APIs, web services, and SSO

Familiarity with Linux server environments

Good to Have

Experience in EdTech platforms / online education

Knowledge of Moodle Mobile App customization

Exposure to AWS / Cloud infrastructure

Understanding of data security & privacy standards

As a Backend Engineer you will be responsible for creating REST APIs which are used to drive the User Interface. Given the nature of the application, these APIs need to be very efficient and high performing. This requires optimizing queries for faster execution and introducing database changes that may be required. Requirements:
