Senior Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain server-side logic using Node.js and Express.js.
• Write well-structured, efficient, and scalable TypeScript code.
• Design and manage relational databases with PostgreSQL.
• Implement caching strategies using Redis.
• Create and manage scheduled tasks using cron jobs.
• Ensure the security and integrity of applications by implementing best security practices.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
• Document APIs using Swagger for clear and concise API documentation.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Write and maintain test cases using testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Jest) to ensure code quality.
• Deploy and manage applications using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, and other cloud technologies.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure we are using the best tools and practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 2-3 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Node.js and Express.js.
• Strong experience with TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Redis for caching and session management.
• Familiarity with cron jobs for task scheduling.
• Knowledge of best security practices for web applications.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and understanding of common challenges in e-commerce backend development.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with Swagger for API documentation.
• Experience writing and running test cases using testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Jest).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with serverless architecture.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Create and maintain database tables, views, indexes, and triggers.

Implement and maintain database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.

Develop and maintain high-quality stored procedures.

Write low cost, high-quality database queries and code while maintaining data quality, privacy, and security

Profile databases, measure database performance and troubleshoot complex database issues, and IO bottlenecks.

Optimize database queries and ensure table locking/deadlocks happen in production.

Optimize large, complicated SQL statements & Stored Procedures.

Cost optimization of Amazon instances using databases.

Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levels

Knowledge of message queuing, indexing, and high-performance data concept

Knowledge of JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON.

Good Grasp of ETL concepts

Work with front-end developers to define simple yet powerful APIs

Work with DBAs to ensure the efficiency of database code, integrity of data structures and quality of data content.

Coordinate with product managers and leadership teams to build effective database objects

• Should be able to analyse requirements, design solutions, write code, debug code and modify existing software enhancements or develop new product software.
• Should be able mentor junior developers to perform their tasks more effectively and efficiently.
• Should be able to perform executions against project plans and meet delivery commitments.
• Should have good experience in source control, unit testing, code verification, documentation, automated build, continuous integration, metrics, and code reviews.
• May interact with product specialists / Project Managers / Product Owners to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications and to give status feedback.
• Should be able to work in an Agile Development Environment using SCRUM methodology.
• Should be able to communicate with other teams and stakeholders to achieve the given goal.

Node JS Developer
JD:

• In depth knowledge of Node.js (with framework, probably Sails.js or at least Express.js)

• Thorough understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or similar technologies.

• Complete knowledge on MongoDB database.

• Excellent coding skill in Node.js, JavaScript

• AWS Hosting.

• Knowledge working closely with git.

• Experience with the Express.js framework.

• Proficiency in Linux environment.

• Agile/Scrum development cycle understanding.

• Excellent communication skills and being able to work independently or in a full team.
