About the Role

We are building a new-age consumer commerce platform focused on parents in India. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Mobile Developer who is passionate about creating exceptional mobile experiences and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

As an early member of the engineering team, you will work directly with the CEO and have the opportunity to build and scale our customer-facing mobile applications while also developing internal tools that power our operations. This role offers high ownership, autonomy, and the chance to shape the future of our products.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android.
• Develop customer-facing features with a strong focus on performance, usability, and reliability.
• Design and build internal operations tools and workflows that support business teams.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO and cross-functional teams to turn ideas into products.
• Own the complete development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and user experience.
• Integrate APIs and third-party services.
• Continuously improve code quality, architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Rapidly iterate based on customer feedback and business needs.

Required Skills

• 1–3 years of experience building mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency in either:
• React Native (preferred), or
• Native iOS (Swift), and/or
• Native Android (Kotlin/Java), or
• Flutter.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating backend services.
• Understanding of mobile architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Git and modern development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

• Experience working in D2C, e-commerce, consumer internet, or marketplace companies.
• Experience building customer-facing mobile products at scale.
• Exposure to backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Firebase.
• Experience building internal tools or operational workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Firebase services.
• Startup experience or experience working in small, high-ownership teams.
• Experience with analytics, notifications, and mobile performance monitoring.

Roles and Responsibilities:

● Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms

● Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms

● Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native

● Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical

software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things

● Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality

Requirements:

● Firm grasp of the JavaScript / TypeScript / ClojureScript language and its nuances

● Knowledge of functional / object-oriented programming

● Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code

● Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts

● Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, IntelliJ

● Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage

● Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha

Your work at Finin:
As our primary android developer , you are expected to

1. Build a light-weight, low latent Android applications with limited or no dependency on third-party modules.
2. Build application logic & develop user facing features in Kotlin.
3. Build reusable components & front-end libraries for future use, as and wherever needed.
4. Translate designs & wireframes into high-quality code.
5. Define front-end architecture, document, estimate scope, & deliver on time.
6. Plan for new technology insertion & trade-offs in development.

Further, as any early stage start-up, we expect you to be comfortable wearing multiple hats, & be a proactive contributor towards building something truly remarkable.

Candidate profile:

1. At least 4 years of professional experience building native projects for Android.
2. Have at least two live projects.
3. Practical knowledge of working with RESTful APIs, & version control tools such as git.
4. Experience creating custom libraries.
5. Proficiency in various software design patterns.
6. Accountable & a proactive communicator.
7. Has worked in agile or iterative environment. Can estimate scope & prioritise.
8. Independent problem solver. Comfortable with ambiguity & fast pace start-up work culture.

1. If you have previous experience building technology for Finance products.
