About the Role

We are looking for a Senior AI/ML Backend Engineer to help build the core intelligence layer powering Lumen and Agent Studio. You will design and ship production-grade backend systems that integrate LLMs into real agentic workflows — taking actions, retrieving knowledge and generating insights inside a live CRM product used by real businesses. This is a hands-on, build-focused role with direct ownership of systems that ship to production.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build and scale backend services in Python that power LLM-driven and agentic features within Lumen and Agent Studio.
• Build and productionize agentic AI systems — including planning, tool use, orchestration, memory and multi-step task execution.
• Integrate LLMs into core product workflows, focusing on reliability, latency, cost and correctness at production scale.
• Build robust APIs and services that connect AI agents with CRM data, business logic and third-party systems.
• Own evaluation, testing and monitoring for AI features to ensure they behave reliably in real-world, not just demo, conditions.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and other engineers to take features from zero to one and iterate rapidly based on real usage and customer feedback.
• Work directly with customers and customer-facing teams to understand real workflows, debug issues and translate feedback into product and engineering decisions.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–4 years of professional backend engineering experience, with strong hands-on Python skills.
• Design and build LLM-powered agentic systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or CrewAI to automate complex, multi-step workflows.
• Should be hands-on with traditional Machine learning frameworks like Pytorch, Scikit-learn
• Solid understanding of API design, backend architecture, databases and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration concepts — prompting, tool/function calling, RAG, agent frameworks, evaluation and guardrails.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, zero-to-one environment where you’ll be defining as much as building.

About the Role

We are building a holistic AdTech platform that delivers premium value to both advertisers and publishers, and the backend is where that entire ecosystem actually runs - the ad marketplace, campaign creation, ad-serving decisioning, analytics collection, attribution, and ROAS measurement.

Concretely, that means large-scale architecture: the ad-serving systems that make real-time decisioning calls at volume, the scalable data platforms that ingest and process billions of events a day, the analytics platforms that turn that data into attribution and ROAS numbers advertisers and publishers trust, and the autonomous AI agents we're building to automate campaign optimization and decisioning across the platform.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to grow beyond simply implementing tasks. You'll have opportunities to understand how backend systems connect to the product and gradually take ownership of larger parts of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend APIs and services for our ad marketplace, campaign management, and analytics platforms.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of professional backend engineering experience, including relevant internship or project experience.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language, with the ability and willingness to adapt to other languages such as Node.js/JavaScript, Go, Python, and Java.
• Good understanding of RESTful API design and backend fundamentals.
• Good understanding of asynchronous programming and how backend services communicate.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

About the role

We give you a product design and a brief. You turn it into backend software that analyses images and user input and hands our frontend team the structured data it needs.

Most of the code gets written by AI agents like Claude Code and Codex, with you directing them. That makes you responsible for every line they produce, including the wrong ones. Your value is knowing what to ask for and catching what the agent got wrong. If “the AI did it” sounds like a reasonable defence to you, this job will frustrate you.

What you will do

1. Read a design and work out what data each part of it needs.
2. Build the backend logic that produces that data, with AI coding agents doing most of the typing.
3. Set up open-source computer vision and AI models, run them on real images, and decide whether they are good enough.
4. Check your own output before anyone reviews it. Wrong values, invented APIs and messy code should stop with you.
5. Ship small, well-typed pull requests that get through code review.

You won’t have to come up with the product itself. We do that part, and your job is to make it work and keep it maintainable.

You will fit if you

1. Write clear, precise English in prompts, pull requests and messages. This is the first thing we screen for.
2. Use Claude Code, Codex or Cursor every day, and can show us how you break a task down for an agent.
3. Know enough computer vision, machine learning and data engineering to ask for the right thing and to recognise a wrong answer when you see one.
4. Are a solid Python engineer who understands typing and async, and who spots bad patterns in a diff quickly.
5. Look at the actual output every time. Code that runs proves very little.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our lean, high-impact engineering team. This is a key founding-team role where you will work closely with the CTO and help build the engineering foundation of the company.
