Senior SAP ABAP Consultant – Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior SAP ABAP Consultant with extensive experience in SAP development, customization, and integration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in ABAP programming, performance optimization, and knowledge of modern SAP technologies like OData, CDS Views, and Fiori.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and support SAP applications using ABAP, ABAP OO, ALV, SmartForms, SAPScripts, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Frameworks.

• Work on ALE/IDocs, RFCs, and other integration technologies for seamless communication between SAP and external systems.

• Develop and maintain SAP reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects).

• Optimize performance of SAP programs by analyzing SQL queries, improving database access, and implementing best practices.

• Work with SAP Fiori/UI5 and OData services to develop modern SAP applications.

• Implement SAP Workflow solutions to automate business processes.

• Debug and troubleshoot issues in standard and custom SAP programs.

• Collaborate with functional teams (SD, MM, FI, PP, etc.) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Guide and mentor junior ABAP developers.

• Participate in SAP upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements.

• Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development.

• Strong expertise in RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).

• Experience with OData, CDS Views, AMDP, and SAP Fiori/UI5 is a plus.

• Good knowledge of ABAP on HANA and performance tuning techniques.

• Experience with S/4HANA development is highly desirable.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and cloud-based SAP solutions.

• Exposure to SAP integration tools like SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI.
