Job Title: Associate Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in building and maintaining backend services and APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Work with both relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases for data modeling and storage.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under guidance.
• Contribute to authentication, authorization, and other core backend features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, and QA to deliver complete features.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Debug issues, write unit/integration tests, and help maintain service reliability and performance.
• Learn to work with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and deployment workflows.
• Use tools like Docker, basic cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), and optionally explore monitoring/logging tools.
• Explore new technologies such as GraphQL, WebSockets, or message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) when relevant.

Requirements:

• 1 to 2 years of backend development experience, including internships, academic projects, freelance, or open-source work.
• Familiarity with at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, etc.).
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP, databases, and server-side logic.
• Exposure to SQL and NoSQL databases and understanding of CRUD operations.
• Familiarity with Git and fundamental development workflows.
• Willingness to learn and apply best practices in scalability, security, and asynchronous programming.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to take feedback and grow.
• Good communication and collaboration skills in a team environment.

• Collaborate with the team members to understand the client requirements.

• Advance coding skills in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Scripting language desirable.

• Must have experience in working on frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter.

• Write clean and well-structured codes.

• Produce detailed technical product descriptions.

• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software along with the databases to ensure strong functionality and optimization.

• Contribute to all the software development phases.

• Follow the industry’s best practices for writing clean code.

• Develop and deploy the latest features that facilitate the relevant tools and procedures if required.

• Improve the code-base of our products in a significant manner

Role and Responsibilities:

• As a backend developer, your primary focus will be the development of all server-side systems
• A basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well. You will test, secure and deploy your code
• Work experience on Node.js is a must along with a server-side framework like Express.js
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Experience and proficiency integrating with REST APIs
• Understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience in working with databases such as MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.
• AgileScrum development cycle understanding.

Skills Required:

• At least 2 years of experience developing backends using NodeJS should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds.
• Good knowledge of MongoDB(Must) & any other MySQL Database.
• Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases.
• Experience developing and deploying REST APIs.
• Knowledge and working experience in Cloud environment - AWS or Azure
• Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks.
• Should be a fast learner and a go-getter without any fear of trying out new things

3-Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges

4-Integration of data storage solutions (may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.

Skills and Qualifications

1-Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (such as Code igniter, Core PHP depending on your technology stack).

2-Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP.

3-Understanding of MVC design patterns.

4-Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, Jquery, Ajax, HTML5, and CSS3.

5-Knowledge of object oriented PHP programming.

6-Understanding accessibility and security compliance (Depending on the specific project)

7-Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions.

8-User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments

9-Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.

10-Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds.

11-Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

12-Familiarity with SQL/MySQL databases and their declarative query languages
