Ruby on Rails Developer

We are looking for a Back-End Developer with 18 months to 36 months of relevant experience who is ready to work with our CTO directly for a variety of projects. You will work on the end-to-end process of design, development, testing & deployment of our image and video optimization products that handle billions of requests every day. Your projects will vary from open source tools development to building new revenue-critical functionality in our core products. You will also be tasked with feature improvements and possible maintenance of existing products from time to time.

You'd be designing internal and public facing REST APIs for various components of the platform. This will be an opportunity for you to work across multiple technologies and domains. You should have: 2-6 years of experience building web applications and RESTful APIs Experience in designing scalable micro-services required Sound knowledge of Python and Django, familiarity with Linux and git Deep understanding of how RESTful APIs work Familiarity with HTML / CSS and templating systems, Redis, RabbitMQ, NGINX preferred Bonus - Preliminary knowledge of any one of these languages - Golang / JavaScript / Lua Responsibilities Our ideal Candidate: You are a problem solver and have a drive for results. • Responsible for providing technical leadership, design and development of complex pieces of the service oriented architecture based platform.
• Modelling Database Design for large scale applications.
• Develop for performance engineering.

💥 What will you do?

As a Backend Engineer, you will

• Create and maintain server-side code
• Designing database schemas to support business requirements
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Write unit tests
• Stay up to date with current best practices
• Collaborate with front end engineers
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with web-application-related technical issues and support their requirements.

While we do not have a strict list of requirements for candidates interested in this role, some indicators that you would fit this role and our engineering culture are 

• 2+ years of relevant work experience as a Backend engineer using Python frameworks like Django, Flask, etc
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Good understanding of OOP concepts
