Job Title : Embedded System Software Engineer

Job Description :

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Embedded System Software Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 Years of experience in embedded software development with a solid foundation in C++ and Qt 5.

This role involves working with embedded Linux systems and contributing to the development and maintenance of robust embedded applications.

Mandatory Skills : C++, Qt 5, Embedded Linux (Yocto preferred), SOAP/REST protocols, Git, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software applications using C++ and Qt 5.
• Work on embedded Linux systems, with a preference for experience in The Yocto Project.
• Integrate and manage network communication using protocols such as SOAP and REST.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Utilize Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Troubleshoot and debug software and system issues efficiently.
• Continuously improve code quality through code reviews, testing, and optimization.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 Years of hands-on experience in software development.
• Proficiency in C++ and Qt 5 Framework.
• Experience working with Embedded Linux; knowledge of Yocto Project is a strong plus.
• Basic understanding of network protocols, including SOAP and REST.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) :

• Experience in cross-compiling and deployment for embedded targets.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing for embedded systems.
• Understanding of hardware-software integration challenges.

Education : B.Tech / M.Tech only

MANDATORY CRITERIA:

• It's a Contractual role for a particular project ongoing in the company, duration will be 1 year or may exceed as per the project requirement, After that the candidate will be kept on permanent role.
• The candidate will be on company's payroll only.
• Candidate should be comfortable for directly visiting and working with client's place.
• Immediate to 15 days joiner preferred
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux Device Driver development
• Strong experience with Linux kernel programming & memory management
• Experience with Zephyr OS / device driver model (porting bare-metal drivers).
• Familiarity with RTOS linux kernel internals and hardware protocols (They mainly use AXI protocol, i2c, spi).
• Strong knowledge of PCIe and DMA drivers
• Proficiency in C / C++ programming languages
• Experience working with hardware interfaces/protocols (AXI, I2C, SPI)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proven experience in developing Linux Device Drivers.
• Preferred experience in Zephyr (need to port bare metal drivers to zephyr OS/device driver model).
• Strong knowledge of PCIe and DMA drivers (Good to know Xilinx's IPs like AXI-DMA, XDMA etc).
• Expertise in Linux Memory Management.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
• Preferred familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), linux kernel internals and hardware protocols (They mainly use AXI protocol, i2c, spi).

• BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
• Solid programming experience in C or C++
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
• Strong documentation and writing skills

Embedded System Engineer

Working on Embedded programming on the microcontroller, Linux/Android OS development

Skills:

Embedded Systems

C Programming

Must be exceptionally good in Embedded Systems C programming, testing/ debugging and in advanced C concepts

Capable of working in Embedded Systems based projects based on 8 and 32 bit microcontrollers (STM32)

Experience with communication protocols and peripherals like UART, SPI, RTC, Ethernet

Hands on experience in IDE like Keil, AVR Studio, MPLAB

Strong documentation and writing skills

Work Experience

1-3 years preferable, fresher with good embedded system knowledge can also apply

Develop firmware, system software for medical devices\ Automotive ECUs\ IoT edge devices & gateways.  Implement the logic and protocols and communications on 32-bit microcontrollers, configure OS, timers, tasks, interrupts, and communicate with external modems, SoCs, trans-receivers to design, code, and test desired functionality as per customer requirements

Job Requirements :

• Hands-on experience in firmware development using C language
• Hands-on experience in writing low-level device drivers for microcontrollers
• Know of real-time Operating system concepts, tasks, and interrupts’ configuration
• Hands-on experience with in-circuit debuggers
• Knowhow of wired and wireless communication protocols 
• Basic understanding of HW circuits, power supply designs, sensors, and actuators’ interfaces
• Experience in implementing SW development quality processes like ISO 9001 or ASPICE
• Good written and oral communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, Roles and responsibilties:

• Experience in  writing code for embedded systems, Proficient in C/C++ coding and intel DPDK

• Knowledge of micro services and containerization
• Experience in building Networking Security Products
• Knowledge of Networking, TCP/IP Protocol Suite
• Design, code embedded features/solutions for the ShieldX Product
• Design write, extend and troubleshoot datapath code for switching, routing, NAT, TCP and TLS
• Work closely with other development , Product and Test Teams
