Python Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand business processes and requirements to develop effective technical solutions.

• Assist in the planning, designing, development, of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.

• Collaborate with IT team members, decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.

• Prepare functional specification documents in accordance to new business requirements.

• Ensure compatibility and interoperability of business software applications.

• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

• Assist in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.

• Identify, assess, and recommend software solutions and implementation partners to management.

• Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

• Participate and sometimes drive IT projects to ensure that system requirements and data engineering needs are addressed throughout the project life cycle.

• Create systems models including integration points, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to internal stakeholders and third parties.

• Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.

• Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related fields with 3 to 4 years in systems and/or functional analysis.

• Proven experience in analysing, designing, and implementing information systems.

• Strong understanding of business processes and technical systems.

• Hands-on skills in SQL and databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server).

Must have:

• 8+ years of experience with a significant focus on developing, deploying & supporting AI solutions in production environments.
• Proven experience in building enterprise software products for B2B businesses, particularly in the supply chain domain.
• Good understanding of Generics, OOPs concepts & Design Patterns
• Solid engineering and coding skills. Ability to write high-performance production quality code in Python
• Proficiency with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Strong expertise in time series forecasting using stat, ML, DL and foundation models
• Experience of working on processing time series data employing techniques such as decomposition, clustering, outlier detection & treatment
• Exposure to generative AI models and agent architectures on platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Crew AI, Mosaic/Databricks, Azure
• Experience of working with modern data architectures, including data lakes and data warehouses, having leveraged one or more of the frameworks such as Airbyte, Airflow, Dagster, AWS Glue, Snowflake,, DBT
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploying ML models in cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Good To Have:

• Experience with MLOps tools and practices for continuous integration and deployment of ML models.
• Has familiarity with deploying applications on Kubernetes
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and challenges.
• A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field is preferred

• Hands-on experience in development of rest services using python
• Good knowledge Django or Flask framework
• Designing database tables and structures
• Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements
• Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases

Role specific info:

• 4-12 years of experience building good quality production software
• Excellent knowledge of at least one ecosystem based on Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, Go/Scala/Clojure
• Good OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge
• Familiar with datastores like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Redshift etc.
• Familiarity with react.js/react-native, vue.js etc. • Knowledge of deploying software to AWS, GCP, Azure
• Knowledge of software best practices, like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI)
