Requirement

• Developer Background: The ideal candidate should come from a developer background with knowledge of Java and other programming languages.
• Database Management: They must have hands-on experience with database management.
• Experience Level: We are looking for a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• On-Call Experience: They must have proven on-call experience, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage stress effectively. We also value collaboration, proactivity, and a curious mindset.

L2 Support Engineers are responsible for:

1. Production Issue Debugging

○ Analyzing logs and monitoring application behavior to identify root

causes of production issues.

○ Providing temporary resolutions using database-level fixes or

configuration changes.

1. Handling Escalations from L1 Support

○ Addressing tickets and issues escalated from L1 by providing immediate

workarounds.

○ Ensuring minimal downtime and impact on business operations.

1. Forwarding Issues to L3/Development Team

○ When a permanent code-level fix is required, the issue is escalated to the

L3 (Development) team.

○ Prior to escalation, L2 should provide a detailed analysis and temporary

resolution (e.g., database fix) to minimize user impact.

1. Root Cause Analysis and Documentation

○ Conducting detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents.

○ Updating the Confluence Playbook with clear, actionable steps for L1

teams to facilitate future self-resolution.

Proficiency / experience with following technologies & tools:

• Thorough and deep understanding of Java JDK 11+, our foundational programming language

Spring Framework & AOP v5.2+

• Proven experience working with, and a deep understanding of Spring Boot 2.5+ and its modules (Web, Data JPA, Security OAuth2) and ability to explain complex use-cases related to persistency and web security
• Experience with Maven v3+
• Experience with containerization and deployments tools (eg. Docker v20+ and Kaniko, Helm (charts) v3+ with  Kubernetes deployments)
• Experience working with CI/CD tools like GitLab SCM & pipelines and JFrog Artifactory
• Strong knowledge working with different types of SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL v12+, MongoDB v4+ and Neo4J v4+
• Proficient in working with DevOps engineers on Cloud deployments (eg. Azure subscriptions)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum & (pref.) SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and enabling tooling – Atlassian Jira Cloud / Jira Align
• Experienced and skilled in full-stack development.
• Leading and solutioning product development of secure and high-performance applications.

Writing tests in a client-side test framework such as Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, etc.

Work withQA team for resolving issues

Report status with tools like JIRA to stakeholders

• 3-5 years of work experience developing complex software
• Minimum 2years sound experience with back-end development in Java-script frameworks like loopback, Express, etc
• A solid understanding of core Javascript principles and its fundamentals
• Familiarity with popular Javascript tools, frameworks and design principles, and enjoy staying up to date with the changing Javascript ecosystem
