Python Backend Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and improvement of both our customer-centric SaaS platform and internal systems. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our application, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

As a Backend Developer with expertise in Java, and PostgreSQL, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our SaaS and internal platforms, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and performance. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design and develop server-side logic, APIs, and database schema to support the functionality and performance requirements of our SaaS platform.
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code using any relevant programming language preferably Java with SpringBoot.
• Optimize the backend systems for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring high performance and responsiveness of the application.
• Implement data storage solutions using PostgreSQL or other relational databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve any issues or bugs in the backend code.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in backend development and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a Backend Developer or similar role, with a focus on server-side development.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and writing efficient SQL queries.
• Familiarity with SaaS concepts and architecture.
• Experience with API design and development, including RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

• As a senior backend engineer, you will be expected to execute and deliver large and complex projects end-to-end, with or without the involvement of other team members
• Ensuring timely delivery of all product deliverables
• Play a key role in technical discussions within the team and be the go-to person for the team for guidance and troubleshooting
• Understand key Business and Engineering metrics around performance, quality, and availability and work regularly with the team to push the boundaries and improve them periodically
• Proactively participate in code reviews and architecture and design discussions
• Mentoring junior engineers and setting best practices for coding, code reviews, etc.
• Help the organization in building a top-quality team by participating in hiring initiatives and evangelizing about contributions, accomplishments, and victories

• Strong and self-motivated individuals, should be able to independently drive decisions
• Solid experience in building web-based products
• Overall of 4+ years of expertise in at least one dynamic programming language and one MVC web framework, preferably Ruby on Rails
• Expertise in Database modeling, preferably relational DB, spotting DB bottlenecks, and writing optimized DB queries
• Expertise in all common Cloud technologies, preferably AWS. Knowledge of CI/CD tools and workflows
• Proven track record in building highly-available and scalable distributed systems
• Willingness to play and explore with new technologies and be a Subject Matter Expert and support them
• Someone who believes in small incremental improvements and is passionate about refactoring
• A keen eye for quality with regards to following and establishing good coding practices, improving code coverage
• Good stakeholder management, ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders

Skills: 

Strong knowledge of MYSQL/PostGreSQL; Knowledge of MongoDB, Redis, Couch DB is preferred. 

Expertise in application development, databases, version control, and deployment. Skill - Node.js, 

Experience of AWS or GCP - especially services such as Lambda or google app engine 

Solid grasp of Service-oriented architecture. Web Services implementation on a medium to large scale 

Solid understanding of scaling mobile app services. Having worked the backend of an Android app is preferred

Role: 

As a Software Developer who would work independently, the candidate is expected actively acquire problems and deliver solutions as well as guide the team technically. Such a problem solver would obviously be a self starter with a high level of curiosity rather than a programming language specialist. 

He/she would be required to produce software of the highest quality through self-discipline, clear and engaged communication, and attention to detail. The role would include custom web application development on (most typically on Node.js and PHP/Python), databases (most typically MySql and MongoDb), version control (github), testing (necessarily through test scripts written before code is written), daily builds and eventual deployment onto AWS or GCP.

• Developed and deployed services in AWS serverless Architecture
• Developed REST API’s using serverless framework, AWS Lambda, API Gateway
• Developed queue and notification services using AWS components - SQS, SNS
• Implemented authorization and authentication using AWS Cognito pool
• Developed Facial recognition systems using AWS Rekognition
• Hands on experience in Flask, Tornado, Quartz framework
• Hands on experience in designing and working on MicroService & Monolithic architecture
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery

Mongo dB experience is must

• Set up, manage, automate and deploy AI models in development and production infrastructure.
• Orchestrate life cycle management of AI Models
• Create APIs and help business customers put results of the AI models into operations
• Develop MVP ML learning models and prototype applications applying known AI models and verify the problem/solution fit
• Validate the AI Models
• Make model performant (time and space) based on the business needs
• Perform statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results
• Train and retrain systems when necessary
• Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field 
• A Master’s degree in data analytics, or similar will be advantageous.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in deploying AI models to production
• Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture
• Good knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms
• Ability to write robust code in Python/ R
• Proficiency in using query languages, such as SQL
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow and libraries such as scikit-learn
• Worked with well know machine learning models ( SVM, clustering techniques, forecasting models, Random Forest, etc.)
• Having knowledge in CI/CD for the building and hosting the solutions
