Job Summary:

The Senior Data Engineer - SQL BI supervises and participates in the development of batch and real-time data pipelines utilizing various data analytics processing frameworks in support of Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, and web application products. This position participates in and supports the integration of data from various data sources, both internal and external. This position performs extract, transform, load (ETL) data conversions, and facilitates data cleansing and enrichment. This position performs full systems life cycle management activities, such as analysis, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software. This position participates and contributes to synthesizing disparate data sources to create reusable and reproducible data assets. This position contributes to application development through semantic and analytical modeling.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4 plus years of relevant professional experience
• In-depth experience with both on-premises SQL Server (SQL, SSIS, SSAS)
• Some experience in Azure (Databricks, Data Factory, Apache Spark, Python)
• Familiarity with Delta lake, Unity Catalog concepts in Databricks
• Demonstrated awareness of Data Warehouse concepts (Star Schema) and methodologies
• Experience with different types of feed (XML, JSON, etc.)
• Familiarity with Data Visualization tools (Power BI is preferred)
• Experience working within Agile Frameworks
• .NET experience is preferred
• Proficiency in writing Python or Java or C# is preferred.

Additional Information This role will be in-office 3 days a week in Chennai, India

Responsibilities:

·       Analyze complex data sets to answer specific questions using MMIT’s market access data (MMIT) and Norstella claims data, third-party claims data (IQVIA LAAD, Symphony SHA). Applicant must have experience working with the aforementioned data sets exclusively.

·       Deliver consultative services to clients related to MMIT RWD sets

·       Produce complex analytical reports using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau

·       Define customized technical specifications to surface MMIT RWD in MMIT tools. 

·       Execute work in a timely fashion with high accuracy, while managing various competing priorities; Perform thorough troubleshooting and execute QA; Communicate with internal teams to obtain required data

·       Ensure adherence to documentation requirements, process workflows, timelines, and escalation protocols

·       And other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience required

·       2-5 yrs. of professional experience in RWD analytics using SQL

·       Fundamental understanding of Pharma and Market access space

·       Strong analysis skills and proficiency with tools such as Tableau or PowerBI

Responsibilities of the role:

• Design and build Visualization, Dashboard and reports for both Internal and external clients using Tableau, Power BI, Datorama or R Shiny/Python, SQL, Alteryx.

• Work with large data sets via hands-on data processing to produce structured data sets for analysis.

• Good to Have - Build Marketing-Mix and Multi-Touch attribution models using a range of tools, including free and paid.

What you will need:

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or quantitative field.

Strong experience building visually appealing UI/UX in Power BI

Understand how to design Power BI solutions for performance (composite models, incremental refresh, analysis services)

Experience building Power BI using large data in direct query mode

Expert SQL background (query building, stored procedure, optimizing performance)

• Create, maintain and automate datasets and insightful dashboards to track core metrics and extract business insights
• Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data to identify business opportunities and optimize features for Analytics.

• 8+ years experience doing Business Intelligence and Analytics work
• B.Tech/M.Tech in a technical field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics)
• Strong knowledge in Data Design, Data Modelling, and Data Validation best practices
• Proficient in data visualization, Preferably SSRS & Power BI
• Fluency with writing advanced SQL code
• Experience with SQL Server Administration and best practices
• Possess BFSI, Fintech Domain Knowledge
