Job Title: Backend Engineer - NodeJS, NestJS, and Python

Location: Hybrid weekly ⅔ days WFO (Bengaluru- India)

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Node.js and NestJS, along with a solid understanding of database management, query optimization, and microservices architecture. As a backend developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable backend systems, building robust APIs, integrating databases, and working closely with frontend and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

What You'll Do 🛠️ 

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using Node.js, NestJS, and Python.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support scalable systems.
• Work with NoSQL and SQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) to create and manage schemas, write complex queries, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and QA.
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement security and data protection best practices.

What You'll Bring 💼 

• 4 to 6 years of professional experience as a backend developer.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and NestJS framework.
• Good hands-on experience with Python (Django/Flask experience is a plus).
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficient in writing complex NoSQL queries and SQL queries
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Basic understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker) and cloud services is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.

Bonus Points ➕ 

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture or message brokers (MQTT, Kafka, RabbitMQ)

Design, build, test, integrate, implement and maintain complex or large-scale web pages and web applications. 

• In-Depth knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL, XML/Json, AJAX, JQuery, LAMP/WAMP   environments. 
• Expertise in PHP-based e-commerce portals like Magento, Shopify, Woocommerce, etc. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Understanding of business requirements and the process of translating them into well-engineered and integrated technical solutions and reusable components. 
• Development of custom modules of Magento, Shopify, and Woocommerce.
• Integrating Magento / Other Ecommerce applications with other external applications like ERP etc. 
• Write elegant and clean code as a PHP Developer. 
• Implement plugins for Magento, Shopify, Woocommerce, etc. 
• Create clean, well-documented products, software, and services. 
• Work closely with product management, UX designers & QA. 
• Always look for ways to make the UI behave and perform better. 
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems which use ingenuity and creativity.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge of Core PHP, Shopify, Magento.
• Good knowledge of any PHP framework ( CodeIgniter and CakePHP )
• Hands-on experience one PHP framework
• Good analytical & communication skills.
• Must be proficient in PHP, MySQL, CSS, HTML, Javascript, AJAX, XML
• Should have excellent written communication skills (English)
• Must have the capacity to work independently and also as a part of a team
• Must have dedication and commitment towards work.

Responsibilities

• Writing clean and secure modular codes that have undergone strict testing and evaluation.
• Maintaining and designing databases effectively.
• Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
• Write quality code with robustness and re-usability for secured web applications and web services (REST and SOAP) for mobile apps.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well should be able to manage a team.
• Must meet the deadline.

Requirements

• Strong hands on experience with PHP Laravel framework
• Knowledge of object oriented PHP programming
• Must have strong experience with API (Web Services) development using JSON, RESTFUL.
• Understanding of MVC design patterns
• Should be best at writing and understanding complex queries using any of two from - MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, T-SQL.

• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, SVN.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key aspects of this role: 

• Maintain, update, and enhance ITSM environment including Incident, Request,  Problem, Change and Knowledge Management, Service Catalog, Service Portals,  SLAs, Discovery, and Integrations 
• Participate in the implementation and configuration of other ServiceNow products outside of ITSM to increase the adoption of the ServiceNow platform. • Responsible for performing daily administration, issue resolution, and  troubleshooting of the ServiceNow platform. Monitor health, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications.

To be the right fit, you will need: 

• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in ServiceNow development and  configuration.  
• Proficient in developing, integrating and maintaining applications using ServiceNow Platform technology and tools.
• Understanding of and experience working with IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, SLM, Service Catalog), PPM/ITBM• Understanding of IT and business requirements with ability to develop, test, deploy improvements, and update Manage and administer lists, filters, forms, platform  interfaces (to other data sources) and the data within tables, import sets and the  CMDB.
