Node.Js Developer

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer who can build high-performance backend systems using Node.js. You’ll work on complex engineering problems, optimize for scale, and own features end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop backend services, APIs, and microservices using Node.js frameworks (Express, Nest.js).

● Own modules end-to-end: design → implementation → testing → deployment.

● Write high-quality, testable, maintainable code.

● Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability across systems.

● Troubleshoot production issues, perform RCA, and improve stability.

● Work with databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching, and async processing.

● Collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD, deployments, and automation.

● Contribute to improving engineering standards, documentation, and processes

What we’re looking for:

● 4 to 7 years of hands-on backend development experience.

● Strong in Node.js, async patterns, TypeScript (preferred), and REST APIs.

● Solid understanding of: Data modeling Queues & background jobs Caching (Redis) API optimization

● Experience with relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB/MongoDB/ Redis).

● Experience with messaging/queues: Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or equivalent.

● Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

● Exposure to AWS or cloud infrastructure.

● Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.

● Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

-Previous experience working as a Shopify developer.

-Strong knowledge of liquid programming language
-Generate custom – tailored Shopify theme and altering pre – existing template.
-Act as Shopify expert, specializing in all facets of the ecommerce platform.
-Strong hands to Install & Customize new Shopify theme.
-Clear concept of HTML5, CSS3, javascript/Jquery.
-Knowledge in other ecommerce platforms like Magento, woocommerce, BigCommerce will be preferred.

Architectural:

Design and implement a software architecture

Strategy, planning, and design:

• Take end-to-end ownership of the product, identify technology requirements, define the future product vision, create preliminary design concepts for add-on modules and shape overall technology and product roadmap by collaborating with the founders, business development, and marketing team.
• Ensure user oriented design is the primary approach to product development across multiple screens, based on user behaviour data and direct customer feedback.

Implementation and deployment:

• Manage Product Release, QA cycles, feature implementation and on time delivery through in-house team and vendors.
• Collaborate with team and customers to define use cases.
• Creation of wireframes/prototypes, site maps and user-flows for web and mobile platforms.

Operational management :

• Support marketing by implementing technical requirements for SEO/product analytics.
• Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration & system testing.
• Rigorously monitor key performance metrics and coordinate with various teams to take corrective actions if needed.
• Establish and forecast ROI of features and succinctly articulate competitive advantage.
• Set-up data collection and analysis system in collaboration with CEO to track key performance.

Personal Requirements:

• Min of 7+ years of Hands on experience in Web app development, payment gateways implementation, architecture design, product management, databases and UI/UX in consumer facing applications.
• Experience on projects involving engineering and algorithmic functions, machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence is very advantageous.
• Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in teams.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and utilise emerging technologies.

• • You’re proficient in NodeJS, TypeScript, MySQL, and MongoDB
  • You possess strong OOP and design pattern knowledge
  • Familiar with modern engineering practices: Code Reviews, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, etc
  • You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability and experienced with TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • You’ve the ability to build RESTful APIs
  • Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support team, and fellow engineers is not a problem for you
  • Well versed with the fundamentals of computer science and distributed systems
  • FrontEnd experience; (Good to have) Angular
  • Startup experience, preferably a tech startup
  • Open Source contributor
  • You have experience with other programming languages -- e.g. Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, C, etc.
  • Passionate about/experienced with open source and developer tools
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
