This role is primarily remote; however, candidates may be required to visit the office occasionally for meetings or project needs.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer (SDE II) with over 3 years of experience to grow a high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in software development, deep technical expertise, and a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale engineering teams and projects. This role requires strategic leadership, the ability to manage complex technical challenges, and the ability to drive innovation while ensuring operational excellence. As a Backend SDE-2, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across the business, product management, and operations to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and play a critical role in shaping the technology roadmap and engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement engineering strategies that support business objectives. Define technology roadmaps and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Technical Excellence: Guide the team in designing and implementing scalable, robust software systems. Drive the adoption of best practices in architecture, coding standards, and software testing to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Project and Program Management: Oversee the successful delivery of engineering projects, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints are met. Use agile methodologies to manage the development process and resolve bottlenecks.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management, Design, Business, and Operations teams to define project requirements and deliverables. Ensure the smooth integration of engineering efforts across the organization.
• Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate technical risks and roadblocks. Proactively identify areas of technical debt and drive initiatives to reduce it.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, high-impact software projects.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages and modern development frameworks For this role we require expertise in Python/Django and API Development
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), microservices, and distributed systems.
• Good experience with MySQL and ElasticSearch. Slight experience with other NoSQL and SQL databases.
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
•  Experience in delivering full-stack B2B/SaaS applications including mobile applications, web frontend, and a scalable backend.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable products
• Participate in code reviews, and design discussions to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
• Pair with team members for functional and non-functional requirements to write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code.
• Help to define roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
• Understand business requirements and work closely with the business to provide solutions

Eligibility

• Strong expertise in Backend Python Development with skills to create APIs, integrate the functions into UI, and store and retrieve data from a variety of databases.
• Strong experience with Django/Flask.
• Strong experience in writing unit tests.
• B.Tech/B.E (Preferred CSE)

Minimum 5-7years of professional experience building web-applications
Strong experience in backend development
Strong experience in AI/Machine Learning development, Data Analysis/Processing
Experience in creating robust and secure REST APIs
Hands-on exposure to RDBMS like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB etc.
Proficiency with one or more programming languages from Java, Python, Node/JavaScript
Solid familiarity working with cloud and related technologies, AWS, GCP and Azure cloud environments
Ability to do very quick research in unknown technologies
Startup mindset, comfort with chaos and multi-tasking ability
Strong programming fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms
An eye for writing performance optimum code in any tool set

Hands -on experience with the following technologies is needed:

1. Good Knowledge of Python & Django Framework.
2. Experience in Git or any Version control systems.
3. Experience in SQL Databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
4. Knowledge of NoSQL Databases like Mongodb.
5. Worked on Django based live projects.
6. To implement microservices using Django rest framework.
7. Handling various technical aspects like coding of modules using the given design specifications
8. Debugging and fixing the defects as well as analyzing its root cause.
9. Deployment(AWS) and monitoring of the live project.
10. Mentoring junior developers.

Knowledge/Experience of AWS will be a big plus

Preferred Qualifications: 
B-Tech-IT/B-Tech -CSE/BCA or any degree in the relevant field

Required Experience:

Minimum 3+ Years of hands-on experience in developing Python Applications. 
Excellent knowledge of Python and experience in or in-depth understanding of core Python 
Knowledge in Lists, Tuples, and Dictionaries
Excellent knowledge of Python Constructor- Parameterized and Non-Parameterized
Must have experience in core python concepts about data structure, OOPS concepts, XML parsing, XML to JSON, optimizations

Developers should have developed Web Based applications., back end, SQL
Agile and scrum methodology

Should not be test automation, Application development frame work

Excellent Communication Skill

Good to Have
