- Setting up cross functional teams that do Product and Packaging Development, Literature search/Monograph generation, Consumer and Clinical Validation, Regulatory support
- Establishing feasibility and Manufacturing Scale up/ Commercialization on Project/product basis and over see their management
- Locating new Ingredients (both actives/formulation agents) that can add value to the innovations and build USP for the product.
- Challenging the team to understand and pick ideas form Traditional knowledge (both ingredients/Recipes/Processes) and adopting them in new products.
- Driving the Innovation Strategy for the company
- Driving value improvement programs in the company to optimize cost and benefits.
- Looking at partnerships with external eco system to accelerate innovation plans including getting them to do NPD and provide lead products.
- Training and capability building of the team
- Setting up of a need based Formulation development R&D infrastructure and Facility for the company to initiate in-house R&D
- Developing and implementing a robust QA for 3P suppliers and implement them same.
What you need to have:
- 7-15 years of R&D Experience in Naturals, Ayurveda, Personal Care at a Group/Team Leader or Head level.
- Fully operational on R&D and Product development related activities.
- Good knowledge of International (specifically US) and Indian regulations

Job Description:
- Product Development:
- Includes new product development, product improvement, process improvement and optimization.
- Formulate bakery recipes for products such as cakes, cookies and dough in general that will deliver optimal flavor systems which comply with cost, product concept design, and regulatory and sensory requirements.
- Create recipes that are consistent with the company philosophy of “honest dough” that optimize the taste experience and achieve preference in testing with target consumers
- Develop and implements the technical plans for multiple food development projects simultaneously
- Project work includes all phases of New Product Development from initial prototype development, to pilot plant scale, to full-scale commercialization.
- Design and executes experiments, analyze and interprets data to make sound technical recommendations for specific projects
- Prepare prototype food products using the research lab, pilot lab, manufacturing facilities and equipment as required.
- Provide solutions to a wide range of challenges by applying technical knowledge and experience
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams and technical peers, throughout the development of new products and processes
- Develop and implements cost savings ideas through formula and process optimization.
- Projects like improving certain product attributes like nutritional value, shelf- life etc
- Training the workforce on the new products and processes, making product barcode labels and supervising the production of the pilot batch.
- Quality Assurance:
- Includes all areas and processes of the plant like production, packaging, raw material inspection etc.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance
- Conducting regular internal audits
- Raw Material Quality Control:
- Supervision of all raw material quality checks and inspections including food ingredients, water, packaging material, cleaning supplies etc.
- Ensuring proper documentation is maintained
- Finished Product Testing:
- Sending products for testing including nutritional information, a shelf- life, quality etc. and documenting the same
- Suggesting any health/nutritional claims or taking corrective action (if required) based on the tests
- Miscellaneous:
- Other miscellaneous tasks like creating content for product packaging, description etc.
- Coordination of external visits, audits, training, workshops etc.
Qualification, Experience, and Skills required:
- 2- 4 years experience in a food manufacturing environment and QC Lab
- B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Food discipline.
- Previous Project Management experience.
- Strong leader with good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate across departments/suppliers and external customers.
- Strong organizational, and project management skills to assist with critical path deadlines and project priorities.
- Working knowledge of the factory and raw materials currently used on site.
- Can effectively time manage - to structure the team's day efficiently with regards to differing priorities/workloads as well as working to tight deadlines.
- Hardworking and passionate with an eye for detail.

- Support the transition by planning and overseeing the transfer of members from one location to another, including but not limited to operational readiness, support documentation, knowledge transfer and acceptance checklists
- Support in ensuring transition activity is planned and executed to schedule, budget and scope
- Support in establishing transition end to end plans including infrastructure support models, change management, risk assessment and mitigation, resource planning and service management with clear tollgates
- Liaise with transition lead on milestone scheduling, knowledge transfer activities, and communication of progress (KPIs)
- Keep stakeholders involved in transition process and update them with the progress and roadblocks
- Promote awareness of transition planning and support processes within the GCC

- Work directly with third party resources on a day-to-day basis to support the transition process during the set-up of the GCC
Skills:
- Proven knowledge of service transition methodology, tools and templates through experience or qualifications
- The ability to identify, escalate and manage project risks with the Transition Lead
- 3+ years of experience transitioning / offshoring / outsourcing projects / functions across sub processes such as Biostatistics, reg. affairs, clinical ops, drug safety, medical Governance, strategy and planning, pharma covigilance
- Good exposure in previous roles to multi-cultural, transversal functions
- Pharma background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in different project phases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
