1. 6+ years experience in backend engineering

TypeScript

10. Cloud experience (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure acceptable)

11. Strong coding standards — Clean Code, code reviews, refactoring

Requirements:

• Should be a go-getter, ready to shoulder more responsibilities, and shows enthusiasm and interest in work.

• Excellent core Python skills including threading, dictionary, OOPS Concept, Data structure, and Web service.

• Should have work experience on the following stacks/libraries: Flask

• Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries

• Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system

• Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process architecture Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python

• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as Angular, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3

• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code

• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications

• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance

• Experience in both RDBMS(MySQL), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, HDFS, HIVE etc) or in-memory caching technologies such as ehcache etc is preferable.

WORK YOU’LL DO

• Design and develop microservices/APIs using either Java/Spring boot, ISTIO, Kubernetes, Docker, CI / CD Pipelines
• You would scale micro services using Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and application architectures to understand the operational objectives and purpose of the future system integration.
• Understand the points of integration between the different systems and highlight the potential risks associated with the delivery of solutions
• Collaborate with Functional Designers and Developers in order to find best solutions
• Produce detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Assist in producing solutions with threat assessments and associated security awareness.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5- 8 years of hands-on experience designing and developing microservices using either Java/Spring Boot
• 3-5 years of experience with system integration
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with API concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, YAML, GraphQL, and Swagger
• Experience developing within agile methodology using CI/CD pipeline
• Experienced in 3-tier, n-tier, cloud computing, microservices architectures and SOA.
• Good knowledge of integration architectures
• Experience supporting and/or implementing complex integration projects
• Excellent client management skills
• Experience with Data modelling would be an asset

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience of working in an Agile Environment
• Ability to drive design from Stories and Requirements
• Adept at UML, Design Patterns, Reusable Services Development,
• Knowledge on Scaling Microservices

• Solid experience in RoR, Golang, NodeJS or Python. Good to have exposure to ML.
• Should have experience in cloud computing
• Has an ability to quickly learn and contribute in multiple codebase
• Overcomes roadblocks and requires minimal oversight
• Takes initiatives to fix issues/tech debts before assigned to him/her
• Able to deep dive into codebase and advise QA of possible regression impact
• Communicates tech decisions through design docs and tech talks
• Has delivered projects with end-to-end accountability
• Keeps track of industry trends and introduces right tech/tools for a given job
• Excellent understanding of software engineering practices, Design Patterns, Data Structures, Algorithms

Preferred Skills: 

We want to really emphasize Spring Boot (2+ years although 1+ if candidate particularly strong) Using Redis as a caching technology with Spring Boot would be a strong plus 

Using Redisson (a particular java client library that can be easily configured with Spring Boot) would be a strong plus 

Knowledge of event based messaging systems (Amazon SNS, Amazon MQ, or Kafka (in AWS) Data Cleaning tools and techniques in CSV and Excel 

Strong Knowledge of Spring Boot Dependency Injection and Configuration 

Experience with APIs for popular e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, Big Commerce, etc.) 

SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) Tools in the context of AWS. (Tools classified under DevOps) 

Experience with managing AWS EC2 VM instances and using AWS managed Services (like S3, MySQL, VPC/Networking, Lambda, etc) 

Performance Analysis Tools (Code Profiling) on Java VM and particularly Spring Boot 

Nice to Have: 

Experience with Cassandra or MongoDB with Spring Boot 

Horizontal Scaling with Spring Boot (considerations running multiple instances of Spring Boot instances) 

Experience with placing Spring Boot applications in Docker/Kubernetes container ecosystems (especially in AWS)

• Mentor junior developers technically.
• Actively work to reduce tech debt in the Locus backend
• Work towards more stability & scalability of the backend
• Tech stack - Java, AWS, Aurora etc.

Eligibility

• 4-8 years of product company experience
• OOP implementation experience. Programming language does not matter, We use Java internally but have hired folks from non Java background.
• Hands on experience in SQL, Dynamo DB, Postgres etc preferred.
• Prior experience building REST APIs
• Advanced understanding of AWS stack
• Prior knowledge of solving problems at scale.
