About the Role / Team

We are building a next-generation AI-first R&D organization in Bengaluru, focused on solving complex problems across LLMs, Agentic AI systems, distributed computing, and enterprise-scale architectures.

This initiative is part of a publicly listed global company investing heavily in AI-driven transformation, re-architecting its platforms into intelligent, autonomous systems powered by large language models, workflows, and decision engines.

You will be working on:

🚀 The Mandate

Own and evolve the technical backbone of an AI-first enterprise platform.

You will define architecture across LLM-powered systems, distributed services, and data platforms — and lead critical transformations from legacy → AI-native systems.

🧩 What You’ll Do

• Architect large-scale distributed systems powering AI-driven workflows
• Lead 0→1 and 1→N platform builds (LLM integrations, agentic systems, orchestration layers)
• Redesign legacy systems into scalable, modular, AI-native architectures
• Drive system design excellence across teams (APIs, infra, observability, reliability)
• Make high-stakes decisions on trade-offs (latency, cost, scalability, model performance)
• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering culture/org standards
• Partner with product, data, and leadership on long-term technical strategy

Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Experience - 4+ Years

Location - Bangalore (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to help design, scale, and continuously improve the platform.

What You'll Do -

• Engage in fast-paced agile application development teams in terms of organizing, managing and executing your work with minimal supervision.
• Participate with the team and stakeholders on requirements understanding, design and solutions in line with the product architecture.
• Build and maintain high performing, high quality backend services and APIs with end-to-end responsibility from development to technical QA (unit tests) by applying technology and best practices.
• Design and manage scalable data pipelines, integrations, and microservices that power the platform.
• Provide necessary technical documentation to enable visibility and maintainability of designs and code.
• Play an integral role in acquiring and learning technology trends, expertise, and best practices to keep the team's collective knowledge up to date.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Masters/bachelor's degree in engineering from a reputed university with an excellent academic record.
• Any relevant certifications on technology from reputed sources is a plus.

Work Experience

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience. Experience working in Energy, Oil & Gas or Engineering domain is a definite plus.
• Experience working in distributed agile developments. Experience working in international teams is relevant.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience building scalable backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using Node.js and TypeScript. Further hands-on experience with NestJS or Express.js is a plus.
• Strong understanding of databases including relational (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) systems, including query optimization and data modeling.
• Good understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
• Good understanding of the concepts and application of unit and integration tests in backend development. Hands-on experience using Jest or Mocha is a plus.
• It is an advantage if you have hands-on experience working in Cloud (Azure) applications especially in areas of DevOps, CI/CD, and Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• It will be a valuable addition if you have experience and knowledge working for energy, oil & gas or engineering industries.

• Proficient knowledge of Django and Django REST framework 
• Experience and good understanding of Redis
• Good knowledge and understanding of PostgreSQL or other relational databases 
• Proficient in NoSQL document databases especially MongoDB. 
• Understanding of threading and multiprocessing in Python, and multi-process architecture 
• Good-enough understanding of version control systems like Git or Mercurial 
• Strong unit-test and debugging skills 
• Knowledge of container technologies (specially Docker) and orchestration systems is a plus 
• Strong understanding of various Python Libraries, APIs, and toolkits
• Excellent understanding of MVC and OOP
• Rapid prototyping skills for getting product feedback 
• Experience with Agile and SCRUM methodology

While we do not have a strict list of requirements for candidates interested in this role, some indicators that you would fit this role and our engineering culture are 

• 2+ years of relevant work experience as a Backend engineer using Python frameworks like Django, Flask, etc
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Good understanding of OOP concepts
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience writing unit tests for the application is a plus
• Experience with building REST APIs
• Superior analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

• 3 years Experience in Ruby on Rails
• Minimum 3 years in MongoDB / PostgreSQL
• Must be from Product based companies   

Key Skills Required :

1. Proficiency in Python 3.x based web and backend development

Responsibilities :

1. Understanding requirement and congributing to engineering solutions at a conceptual stage to provide the best possible solution to the task/challenge
2. Building high quality code using coding standards based on the SRS/Documentation
3. Building component based, maintainable, scalable and reusable backend libraries/modules.
4. Building & documenting scalable APIs on the Open Spec standard
5. Unit testing development modules and APIs
6. Conducting code reviews to ensure that the highest quality standard are maintained
7. Securing backend applications and APIs using industry best practices
8. Troubleshooting issues and fixing bugs raised by the QA team efficiently.
