Role: Backend Developer (2 openings)

Technology Profile-

The candidate must have experience in the following technologies (the more the better):

Backend:

Languages and Frameworks: PHP, NodeJS, Python, etc.

Database: MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, Neo4j, etc.

Extra: OAuth, Firebase

 

Requirements:

• Ability to reuse components
• Proven experience in working with Git and Github 
• Creating and consuming a RESTful API
• You must have clear concepts of client-server architecture
• Familiarity with MVC (Model-View-Controller) design patterns
• Working experience with NoSQL and relational databases
• Understanding of OOP concepts

 

Furthermore, the candidate must have built or published any web app or project through which they can demonstrate their experience and knowledge of the aforementioned technologies and requirements. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

● Follow due SDLC process for different phases of
development like design, development, unit testing,
maintenance
● Understand the requirements clearly from Functional
specs and future roadmap
● Write and update software design specs for the
solution
● Participate and invite peer review for design and
coding
● Support the automation requirements of continuous
integration and continuous deployments
● Handle customer escalations and special requests in a
timely manner
● Work with the rest of the team in a professional manner
and show ownership and commitment. 

Qualifications and Required Skills:

● 2+ years experience in Software development
● In-depth knowledge of database technologies (SQL and
NoSQL)
● Proficiency in Python/Django framework
● Experience building RESTful APIs and knowledge of
RESTful design patterns
● Well versed with the complete Software Engineering Lifecycle.
● Strong Software development fundamentals including OOPS,
MVC, General Algorithms, Design Patterns etc.
● Good debugging and problem solving skills
● Analytical skills.
● Algorithmic and structured thinking.
● Works effectively within a collaborative team environment
● Good communication skills and positive attitude

Duties and Responsibilities

• You will work on a disruptive product that’s still in its early stages
• Lead development of features within your technical focus area (backend)
• Design and develop secure, clean, clear, scalable, and well-documented
codebase
• Translate objectives into step by step, evaluate, and then refactor into a
scalable and extensible design
• Exercise high end-to-end ownership and initiative of their tasks
• Design, develop, ship, and maintain medium or high complexity features
with little guidance from a more experienced engineer
• Research on new technologies and tools to improve products
• Mentoring other engineers, defining our technical culture, and helping to
build a fast-growing team.

Qualifications
• 2-4 years of experience of building backend services
• Familiar with REST and event driven constructs
• Well-versed in one of the following languages: Java, Go-lang, or Python
• Data modelling experience in Relational and NoSQL databases
• Proficiency in OOP, SQL, Design Patterns, and software best practices
• Well-versed in standard web frameworks such as Spring Boot / Django
• A supportive and highly collaborative attitude to work with cross-
functional teams on a daily basis

• A passion for learning new stacks and taking on new challenges
• Ability to break-down larger/fuzzier problems into smaller ones in the
scope of the product

Your work will involve: - Build highly scalable Java based applications - In the 1st phase, understand the first product that has been built externally; iterate and optimise it based on customer feedback - In the next phase, work on introducing pivotal new features in the existing product - Contribute to instating the early internal security policies - Contribute in building the initial data infrastructure to process and consume the growing streams of data - In the final phase, build and launch new products that encompass the multiple financial services requirements of the end user on a single platform Skills & Qualifications: - Proficiency in Java; at least two years of professional experience (preferably in a consumer product startup) - 1-2 years of experience in software development on the AWS Lambda micro-services architecture and NoSQL databases is mandatory - Familiarity with multiple layers of infrastructure and application stack - UI, application layer, database - Comfortable dealing with operational aspects like reporting, and infrastructure sizing - Preferably have experience with interfacing with external systems like Aadhaar, CIBIL, Social network sites, payment gateways etc. - Need to be high energy and be able to work under pressure.
