Java developer

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:

We're looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer who loves solving complex problems and building efficient server-side systems. You should be good at breaking down big problems into smaller, manageable parts and designing scalable backend solutions. At Fountane, we use Agile with scrum, and you'll help us improve this process. You'll work with product owners, designers, testers, and operations teams to build effective backend architecture and APIs.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Build high-quality backend services and APIs that are modular, reusable, and scalable.
• Take responsibility for the complete backend development and deployment of projects for our portfolio companies.
• Create database schemas, API designs, and documentation to clarify requirements and solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested server-side code following best practices.
• Develop technical specifications and assess if backend solutions are practical to implement.
• Design and optimize database models and query performance.
• Set up testing plans and quality checks to ensure reliable backend systems.
• Write and maintain clear documentation for all APIs and backend functionality.
• Fix bugs and improve existing backend systems for better performance.
• Handle server deployments and use feedback to make improvements.
• Follow project plans and industry standards for backend development.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:

• Strong experience with Node.js and backend JavaScript frameworks like Express, NestJS, or Koa.
• Solid knowledge of database systems like MongoDB, and query optimization techniques.
• Experience with RESTful API design and GraphQL implementation.
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating effectively with others.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and backend design patterns.
• Deep knowledge of server-side JavaScript and asynchronous programming models.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (preferred) or Google Cloud Platform for backend deployment.
• Familiarity with our backend tech stack: Node.js, Express, Postgres, MongoDB, Hasura, GraphQL, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.

Key Qualifications

• Developer Role:
• Preferably Java 
• CI/CD - DevOps (Exposure)
• Messaging Middleware (Exposure to Kafka or any other messaging middleware)
• DB: Oracle (pref) - any other Database platforms (SQL/NoSQL)
• Server Side: Java, Spring boot Microservices
• Exposure to Any Major Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Role / Purpose - Lead Developer - API and Microservices

Must have a strong hands-on development track record building integration utilizing a variety of integration products, tools, protocols, technologies, and patterns.

• Must have an in-depth understanding of SOA/EAI/ESB concepts, SOA Governance, Event-Driven Architecture, message-based architectures, file sharing, and exchange platforms, data virtualization and caching strategies, J2EE design patterns, frameworks
• Should possess experience with at least one of middleware technologies (Application Servers, BPMS, BRMS, ESB & Message Brokers), Programming languages (e.g. Java/J2EE, JavaScript, COBOL, C), Operating Systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, MVS), and Databases (DB2, MySQL, No SQL Databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.)
• Must have experience implementing API Service architectures (SOAP, REST) using any of the market-leading API Management tools such as Apigee and frameworks such as Spring Boot for Microservices
• Should have Advanced skills in implementing API Service architectures (SOAP, REST) using any of the market-leading API Management tools such as Apigee or similar frameworks such as Spring Boot for Microservices 
• Appetite to manage large-scale projects and multiple tracks
•  Experience and knowhow of the e-commerce domain and retail experience are preferred

Skills Required:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Technical design, implementation, deployment, and support.
• Partner with Business Analysts to review and implement business requirements.
• Perform development and unit testing, working closely with Business.
• Mentors and oversees the development of resources, including reviewing designs and performing code reviews.
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
• Developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high availability and performance
• Should have experience of working on Core Java/J2EE & OOPS concept
• Should be well versed with Spring/Struts & Apache Camel (OSGI Framework)
• Should have a good understanding of Hibernate and Other ORMs
• Should have an understanding of working on Web Service (SOAP/REST) and Maven
• Build tools such as Jenkins
• Caching Technique(Radis, Hazlecast, Aerospike)
• Database Knowledge - Oracle, MySQL

Required Skills:

• Bachelor/Master's in computer science or relevant fields
• 4+ years of relevant experience
