● Complete ownership of the components that one works on - starting from
architecture design to monitoring metrics post deployment
Strong bias for action with a problem solving mindset. Meeting current
requirements or resolving issues while keeping bigger picture in mind.
● Thinking big while designing components. Keeping in mind that if we build our
current version for x users, it will be 10x within a year & 100x within 1.5 years
hands on experience in software development with excellent
problem-solving skills.
● Hands on experience on building highly-available, scalable systems.
● Expertise in Java with data structures, algorithms, spring, hibernate skills.
● Knowledge of NoSQL, MongoDB, caching data stores, queuing and search.
● Proficiency in computer science fundamentals: Object oriented design, data
structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
● Good with the design patterns and architecture solution to large scale
applications.
● Nice to have: Cassandra, Kafka, Aerospike development experience with highly
scalable and performant software systems.

What You'll Be Doing:

• You will partner with our globally distributed cross-functional teams (Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, Data Science) to conceptualize and develop new features and products in an Agile environment. 
• You will own end-to-end delivery of software components all the way to production, owning team features or systems. 
• You will be building web services and REST APIs at scale, and producing high-quality results with direct business impact. 
• You will be monitoring and improving existing deployments, ensuring that we are continuously improving our product. 
• You will be assisting our QA and support team in triaging and resolving production issues and addressing bugs.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Java developer responsible for building Java applications. This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-end counterparts. Primary responsibility will be to design and develop these types of applications and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle

Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code

Design, implement and maintain applications that can be high-volume and low-latency

Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Skills:

Minimum 3+ years of experience in Java

Proficient in Java and Springboot

Solid understanding of object-oriented programming

Familiar with various design and architectural patterns

Skill for writing reusable Java libraries

Familiarity with concepts of MVC, and RESTful

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

Familiarity with build tools such as Maven, and Gradle

Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (Hibernate)

Excellent written and verbal communication.

● Write user level stories and subtasks with your manager and the product management team.
● Execute these via designs and high quality implementations in Java and/or Python.
● Work with frontend engineer to clearly demarcate division of responsibilities via REST based interfaces.
● Focus on solutions that deliver non functional requirements around performance, scalability, security, high availability, monitorability, debuggability and other such concerns.
● Evaluate new technologies and build prototypes for continuous improvements
● Very strong real world experience on Java, Springboot, Microservices.
● Advocate best practices and standards

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Design, architect and develop advanced software solutions in a cross functional Agile team supporting multiple projects and initiatives
• Collaborate with product owners and/or the business on requirements definition, development of functional specifications, and design
• Collaborate on or lead development of technical design and specifications as required
• Code, test and document new applications as well as changes to existing system functionality and ensure successful completion
• Take on leadership roles as needed

 

Skills & Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of software development experience using GoLang/Java programming language
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP/Pivotal Cloud Foundry/any private cloud) and containerization is required
• AWS - experience in extensive use of AWS offerings like Redis, Kafka etc.
• Experience with a micro-services architecture is a plus
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other Relational Databases
• Test-driven development mindset and a focus on quality, scalability, and performance
• Strong programming fundamentals and ability to produce high quality code
• Solid understanding of Agile (SCRUM) Development Process required
