Job Description

We are looking for a Software engineer to join our cutting-edge development team as it grows. We want someone who is comfortable asking “why?” The ideal candidate is a divergent thinker who understands industry best practices and has experience with multiple coding languages. They are a team player possessing strong analytical as well as technical skills, and are able to communicate the logic behind technical decisions to non-tech stakeholders. They must be comfortable working in an agile environment and have the ability to “take the wheel” when necessary. They will work with multiple technologies and develop a keen sense of evaluating and using the appropriate technology to derive the best solution.

What you'll do

• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
• Write and test code to ensure compatibility and stability: refine and rewrite as necessary
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Follow the spec and its requirement and develop the features/project
• Providing written knowledge transfer material as documents

Must have

• 1+ years experience coding in a modern programming language like Java, GoLang, Node JS, Python or RoR 
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, good design principles like SOLID 
• Problem solving & analytical aptitude 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Experience in source code control with git/svn
• Should be flexible to work on a variety of programming languages like NodeJS, Python, etc. and on XML technologies like XSLT, XML Pipelines, etc

Good to have

• Experience working in the Node JS stack 
• Unit testing and automation frameworks 
• Experience working in a public cloud environment (AWS preferred) 
• Working with distributed microservice architectures 
• Agile product development life cycle

Eligibility Criteria 

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related fields from a reputed institution
• Any internship experience is a plus
• Experience: 1-4 years 
• Location: Chennai. Work from office (Mon to Fri)

• Good experience in Javabackend/J2EE, Eclipse, Javascript, XML, Data Structures, Database 
• Should have good experience working in Springboot.
• Good experience in JSON / RESTful API / Web Services.
• Experience with Design Patterns.
• Experience in AWS and Queuing systems is an advantage
• Basic estimation experience

• Deliver entire application life cycle - concept, design, build and test complex web applications.
•  Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional and technical solutions.
•  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including corner cases, usability, and general reliability.
•  Perform bug fixing and ensure acceptable application performance.
• Continuously upgrade knowledge on technology changes, evaluate impact to application, and implement changes to ensure minimal latency in application availability to users.
•  Work closely with project/product managers while effectively working across multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.
• Mentor the team members on the nuances of technology and implement best practices within the team.

What you’ll do at Ather:

• You will be developing the various Applications for the cloud to process data connecting with the vehicle 

• You shall work with the Lead and product team to define and deliver features. 

• Be part of the Agile team, to define Sprint work content definition. 

• Work with cross functional teams to drive overall feature delivery. 

• Be part of the initiatives that achieve the functional requirements of the team. Explore technical feasibility of solutions, propose and evaluate tech stacks. 

• Performance tuning and benchmarking of the features 

Here’s what we are looking for: 

• Strong knowledge and Hands on experience with Nodejs, RestAPI, Java Script, Java Development experience in cloud based infrastructure 

• Strong fundamentals in any fullstack of your choice, OOPS concepts, Google Cloud Platform. Knowledge of Java, React, React Native, Android Native , HTML5, Firebase and Go Programming is a plus. 

• Knowledge on CI/CD pipelines, JIRA, UML, Static Code Analysis tools and Unit test framework is required 

• Knowledge on the S/W communication protocols like gRPC, HTTP, MQTT is a plus Cross platform development experience would be needed. 

• Knowledge of Cloud Based solutions would be a plus. 

• App development for a product which is beyond a mobile platform would be a plus. Experience with Telematics/Infotainment projects would be a great advantage. 

• Strong experience with Agile methodology, along with tools such as JIRA, Confluence. 

• Flashing and debugging tools experience is a plus.
