Job Description:

We are looking for a Lead Java Developer – Backend with a strong foundation in software engineering and hands-on experience in designing and building scalable, high-performance backend systems. You’ll be working within our Digital Engineering Studios on impactful and transformative projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor backend development teams.
• Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Ensure high standards of code quality through best practices such as SOLID principles and clean code.
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and continuous integration processes.
• Drive Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery practices like TDD, BDD, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients for successful delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 9–12+ years of experience in backend development (Up to 17 years may be considered).
• Strong programming skills in Java and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience in designing and building large-scale, custom-built, scalable applications.
• Sound understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, TDD/BDD, CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Good understanding of cloud technologies – especially AWS, and exposure to GCP or Azure.
• Experience working in a product engineering environment is a plus.
• Startup experience or working in fast-paced, high-impact teams is highly desirable.

Job responsibilities

• Performs development, deployment, administration, management, configuration, testing, and integration tasks related to the cloud security platforms.
• Develops automated security and compliance capabilities in support of DevOps processes in a large-scale computing environment for the storage program within the firm.
• Champions a DevOps security model so that security is automated and elastic across all platforms and cultivate a cloud first mindset in transitioning workloads.
• Leverages DevOps tools to build, harden, maintain, and instrument a comprehensive security orchestration platform for infrastructure as code.
• Provides support to drive the maturity of the Cybersecurity software development lifecycle and develop & improve the quality of technical engineering documentation.
• Makes decisions of a global, strategic nature by analyzing complex data systems and incorporating knowledge of other lines of business & JPMC standards.
• Provides quality control of engineering deliverables, technical consultation to product management and technical interface between development and operations teams.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on Security engineering and 3+ years applied experience
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java with strong coding skills
• Understanding of one or more Public Cloud platforms( AWS/ GCP/ Azure)
• Experience with highly scalable systems, release management, software configuration, design, development, and implementation is required
• Ability to analyzing complex data systems – failure analysis / root cause analysis, developing, improving, and maintaining technical engineering documentation

Responsibilities:

• Participation in the requirements analysis, design, development and testing of applications.
• The candidate is expected to write code himself/herself.
• The candidate is expected to write high level code, code review, unit testing and deployment.
• Practical application of design principles with a focus on the user experience, usability, template designs, cross browser issues and client server concepts.
• Contributes to the development of project estimates, scheduling, and deliverables.

Requirements:

• BE/B. Tech. Computer Science or MCA from a reputed University.
• 3.5 - 6.5 Years of experience in software development, with emphasis on JAVA/J2EE Server side programming.
• Hands on experience in Core Java, Multithreading, RMI, Socket programing, JDBC, NIO, webservices and Design patterns.
• Should have Knowledge of distributed system, distributed caching, messaging frameworks ESB etc.
• Knowledge of Linux operating system and PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB/Cassandra database is essential.
• Additionally, knowledge of HBase, Hadoop and Hive are desirable.
• Familiarity with message queue systems and AMQP and Kafka is desirable.
• Should have experience as a participant in Agile methodologies.
• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.

Work with Architect to define Application, Integration and Security Design for various components involved.

Design, development and build of java solution components/modules and integrations

Hands on knowledge in technology areas like Core Java, Java 8, Web services (SOAP and REST), Spring boot, Spring Frameworks, Spring Data JPA, REST/SOAP services, Spring cloud, Spring MVC, JSON & XML based processing. Strong command on Java/J2EE & OOPs concepts and current industry trends. Working knowledge of Java 8, 11 new features.

Working knowledge of cloud based server less application development on any of cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP. Candidate with experience in Cloud native application development experience will be preferred.

Working knowledge in any of the databases like Mongo DB/Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server.

Working knowledge in any of messaging platforms like Apache Kafka/Rabbit MQ/JMS/AWS SQS/Azure Event Hub/Service Bus.

Production implementation experience for large enterprise applications using Java/J2EE will be preferred.

Experience in implementing Web services Security using WS-Security, SAML, OAUTH2, Kerberos and integrating with Identity providers, LDAP and ADFS. Experience working with credential vaults will be add-on.

Strong knowledge on design and integration patterns especially in applications involving Portals/SSO, legacy applications, B2B Applications, external partners using enterprise service bus.

Well versed with ensuring coding standards, DevOps CICD implementations, version management, branching strategy, security principles.

Ensure code quality and standards are followed. Experience in test automation is plus.
