Your challenge

As a DevOps Engineer, you’re responsible for automating the deployment of our software solutions. You interact with software engineers, functional product managers, and ICT professionals daily. Using your technical skills, you provide internal tooling for development and QA teams around the globe.

We believe in an integrated approach, where every team member is involved in all steps of the software development life cycle: analysis, architectural design, programming, and maintenance. We expect you to be the proud owner of your work and take responsibility for it.

Together with a tight-knit group of 5-6 team players, you develop, maintain and support key elements of our infrastructure:

• Continuous integration and production systems

As our new DevOps Engineer, you’ll be part of a large, fast-growing, international team located in Belgium (Antwerp, Ghent, Wavre), Spain (Barcelona), Ukraine (Lviv), and the US (Atlanta). Software Development creates leading software solutions that make a difference to our customers. We make smart, robust, and scalable software to solve complex supply chain planning challenges.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to Computer Science.
• Pride in developing high-quality solutions and taking responsibility for their maintenance.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of the following technologies: Kubernetes, PowerShell or bash scripting, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines or similar automation systems, Git.
• Familiarity with the Cloud–Native Landscape. Terraform, Ansible, and Helm are tools we use daily.
• Supportive towards users.

Bonus points if you have:

• A background in DevOps, ICT, or technical support.
• Customer support experience or other relevant work experience, including internships.
• Understanding of Windows networks and Active Directory.
• Experience with transferring applications into the cloud.
• Programming skills.

Objectives :

• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities :

• Deploy updates and fixes
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors
• Investigate and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate visualization
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Skills and Qualifications :

• Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Proficient with git and git workflows
• Good logical skills and knowledge of programming concepts(OOPS,Data Structures)
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL

 Responsibilities

• Experience with Azure services (Virtual machines, Containers, Databases, Security/Firewall, Function Apps etc)
• Hands-on experience on Kubernetes/Docker/helm.
• Deployment of java Builds & administration/configuration of Nginx/Reverse Proxy, Load balancer, Ms-SQL, Github, Disaster Recovery,
• Linux – Must have basic knowledge- User creation/deletion, ACL, LVM etc.
• CI/CD - Azure DevOps or any other automation tool like Terraform, Jenkins etc.
• Experience with SharePoint and O365 administration
• Azure/Kubernetes certification will be preferred.
• Microsoft Partnership experience is good to have. 
• Excellent understanding of required technologies
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly at all levels
• Ability to work in unfamiliar business areas and to use your skills to create solutions
• Ability to both work in and lead a team and to deliver and accept peer review
• Flexible approach to working environment and hours to meet the needs of the business and clients

Must Haves:

• Hands-on experience on Kubernetes/Docker/helm.
• Experience on Azure/Aws or any other cloud provider.
• Linux & CI/CD tools knowledge.

Experience & Education:

• A start up mindset with proven experience working in both smaller and larger organizations having multicultural exposure
• Between 4-9 years of experience working closely with the relevant technologies, and developing world-class software and solutions
• Domain and industry experience by serving customers in one or more of these industries - Financial Services, Professional Services, other Retail Consumer Services
• A bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Software Engineering and Computer Science

• Proficient in Linux Commands line and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in AWS Services. Deployment, Monitoring and troubleshooting applications in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with CI tooling preferably with Jenkins.
• Proficient in deployment using Ansible.
• Knowledge of infrastructure management tools (Infrastructure as cloud) such as terraform, AWS cloudformation etc.
• Proficient in deployment of applications behind load balancers and proxy servers such as nginx, apache.
• Scripting languages: Bash, Python, Groovy.
• Experience with Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting tools like ELK(Elastic-search, Logstash, Kibana), Nagios. Graylog, splunk Prometheus, Grafana is a plus.

• Responsible for the entire infrastructure including Production (both bare metal and AWS).
• Manage and maintain the production systems and operations including SysAdmin, DB activities.
• Improve tools and processes, automate manual efforts, and maintain the health of the system.
• Champion best practices, CI-CD, Metrics Driven Development
• Optimise the company's computing architecture
• Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability
• Maintain security of the system
• Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation

• 7+ years of experience into DevOps/Technical Operations
• Extensive experience in operating scripting language like shell, python, etc
• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD process for SaaS applications using tools such as Jenkins
• Hands on experience in using configuration management tools such as Puppet, SaltStack, Ansible, etc
• Hands-on experience to build and handle VMs, Containers utilizing tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc
• Hands on experience in building, designing and maintaining cloud-based applications with AWS, Azure,GCP, etc
• Knowledge of Databases (MySQL, NoSQL)
• Knowledge of security/ethical hacking

• Have experience with ElasticSearch, Kibana, LogStash
• Have experience with Cassandra, Hadoop, or Spark
• Have experience with Mongo, Hive

Exposure to development and implementation practices in a modern systems environment together with exposure to working in a project team particularly with reference to industry methodologies, e.g. Agile, continuous delivery, etc

• At least 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3)
• Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
• Experience using DevOps methodology and Infrastructure as Code
• Automation / CI/CD tools – Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins
• Infrastructure as code – Terraform, Cloudformation, etc
• Strong experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform
• Automated provisioning and configuration management – Ansible, Chef, Puppet
• Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK and deploying applications on AWS
• Improve CI/CD processes, support software builds and CI/CD of the development departments
• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated deployment code for development, test, staging and production environments
