About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional EHR Integration Engineer who can build intelligent, AI-powered integrations that work seamlessly with a wide range of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This role is critical in helping us connect our AI capabilities with the diverse healthcare technology landscape.

As an EHR Integration Engineer at Asha Health, you'll develop robust, scalable integration solutions that enable our AI-powered tools to interact with various EHR platforms. You'll build the connective tissue that allows our technology to access and utilize patient data securely while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Your responsibilities will fall into 3 key categories:

EHR Integration Engineering

• Design and develop robust integration architectures that connect our AI platform with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, athenahealth, etc.)
• Implement HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data standards to ensure seamless data exchange
• Build flexible API solutions that can adapt to the unique requirements of different EHR environments
• Create monitoring systems to ensure integration reliability and performance across multiple systems

AI/ML Implementation

• Collaborate with our AI team to implement machine learning models that can process and analyze EHR data
• Develop data transformation pipelines that prepare diverse EHR data for use by our AI systems
• Build solutions that enable our AI to write back to EHR systems in compliant, structured formats
• Implement privacy-preserving techniques to maintain data security while enabling AI functionality

Engineering Architecture

• Design scalable systems that can handle the complexity and volume of healthcare data
• Implement healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST) into our integration architecture
• Develop documentation and training materials for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with healthcare organizations to understand their specific EHR configurations and workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (MS preferred)
• 3+ years of experience building integrations with major EHR systems
• Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, CCDA)
• Proven experience with healthcare APIs and integration patterns
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and other relevant languages
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and implementation
• Understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical documentation processes
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST)

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare interoperability frameworks (Redox, Particle Health, etc.)
• Certifications from major EHR vendors (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
• Prior work with LLMs or other AI technologies in healthcare contexts
