ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at knacklabs.ai, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and customer success. You'll

embed directly with customer teams to understand their workflows, rapidly prototype and ship solutions using our platform, and

turn those learnings into product improvements. This role is ideal for engineers who want high ownership, fast feedback loops,

and direct exposure to how their code changes a customer's business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Customer Embedding: Work directly with customers to understand their business processes, pain points, and technical environments.

● Solution Building: Design, build, and deploy custom products, ERP Systems, workflows automation and product development.

● Product Feedback Loop: Turn one-off customer builds into reusable, generalizable features by working closely with

the core product and engineering teams.

● Rapid Prototyping: Write production-quality code under real deadlines, balancing speed with maintainability.

● Technical Troubleshooting: Debug issues across the stack — from data pipelines to APIs to front-end integrations —

in live customer environments.

● Ongoing Ownership: Own the technical relationship with select customers post-deployment, ensuring solutions remain

stable and scale with their needs.

● Travel: Travel to customer sites as needed (expected occasionally, varies by account).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

● 6-10 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including customer-facing or implementation work.

● Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Node.js, Go, or similar) and comfort working across a full stack.

● Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

● Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.

● Strong communication skills — able to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

● A bias toward action: comfortable shipping a working solution today rather than a perfect one next month.

● Experience working with AI/ML products, LLM-based applications, or data-intensive systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

● Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or in a consulting/implementation role.

● Familiarity with enterprise environments, integration patterns, and security/compliance considerations.

● Startup experience, or comfort with the pace and scope changes that come with an early-stage company.

Senior Full Stack Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who loves to build. This role is all about getting things working—fast—and then making them solid.

You’ll be hands-on across the stack, taking defined user journeys and turning them into real, clickable prototypes, then hardening them into reliable, production-ready features. There’s no people management here—just solving problems, writing code, and shipping.

You’ll work closely with your Innovation partner (who’s experimenting with new ideas and patterns) and help bring those ideas into the product in a practical, shippable way. We collaborate remotely, with in-person sessions to whiteboard, pair, and move things forward quickly.

• Build end-to-end features across frontend and backend—from idea to demo to production-ready.
• Turn lightweight wireframes and “good enough” requirements into working software.

• Plug experimental UI and workflows into our core applications and services.

Job Description – Senior Software Developer

 Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop and maintain web applications using the MERN stack.
• Design RESTful APIs (and possibly GraphQL) in Node.js/Express, integrate with front-end in React.
• Build and enhance the front-end UI in React, ensuring performance, responsiveness and maintainability.
• Design MongoDB schemas, indexes and queries for high-traffic/scale scenarios.
• Deploy, operate and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS: e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, VPCs, IAM, autoscaling.
• Ensure high availability, fault-tolerance, and scalability of services in production.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, monitoring & alerting.
• Troubleshoot and fix performance bottlenecks across the stack (front-end, back-end, database, cloud).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA, DevOps) to deliver features end-to-end.
• Mentor junior/mid-level developers, conduct code-reviews, impart best practices.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, propose improvements to architecture and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in full-stack web development using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
• Strong front-end skills in React: component architecture, hooks, state management, performance optimisation.
• Solid back-end skills in Node.js/Express: API design, middleware, security, robustness.
• Experience with MongoDB (or equivalent NoSQL) including schema design, query optimisation, indexing.
• Proven experience working with AWS cloud services (compute, storage, database, networking, security, monitoring).
• Experience deploying applications at scale: autoscaling, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‐as‐code (CloudFormation, Terraform or similar), containerisation (Docker) is a plus.
• Good understanding of software engineering best practices: code-quality, testing, documentation, version control (Git).
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, ability to work remotely and collaborate across time zones.
