Full Stack Java Engineer

Some of the tech problems you get to work on as a backend engineer would be to build the backend for a modern spreadsheet experience from scratch, work on infra as code, write robust code that is fault-tolerant, work on performant code that adheres to SLOs set by the organization.

About you:

● 3- 5 years of experience

● Expertise in the following areas ○ Java ○ HTTP Protocol

● You’ve heard of or worked with some of the following tech stacks/products ○ Spring ○ PostgreSQL ○ Redis ○ Docker ○ Message brokers ○ GitHub

● These non-functional areas are familiar to you ○ Performance ○ Debugging ○ Log management

Striim’s enterprise-grade, streaming integration with intelligence platform makes it easy to build continuous, streaming data pipelines – including change data capture (CDC) – to power real-time cloud integration, log correlation, edge processing, and streaming analytics.

Strong Core Java / C++ experience

·       Excellent understanding of Logical ,Object-oriented design patterns, algorithms and data structures.

·       Sound knowledge of application access methods including authentication mechanisms, API quota limits, as well as different endpoint REST, Java etc

·       Strong exp in databases - not just a SQL Programmer but with knowledge of DB internals

·       Sound knowledge of Cloud database available as service is plus (RDS, CloudSQL, Google BigQuery, Snowflake )

·       Experience working in any cloud environment and microservices based architecture utilizing GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI, Azure or similar technologies

·       Experience in Application verticals such as ERP, CRM, Sales with applications such as Salesforce, Workday, SAP  < Not Mandatory - added advantage >

Roles & Responsibilities

As a member of our fast-growing engineering team, your responsibility will be to get involved in day-to-day development operations and solve complex problems of digitization to meet the demands of business.

To be successful, you must have a self-driven mindset, go getter attitude.

The responsibilities include:

• Writing the clean quality code & Understanding functional requirements thoroughly and analyzing the requirements in the context of the product
• Envisioning the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements, and being able to define technologies, patterns and frameworks
• Determining and implementing design methodologies and tool sets
• Enabling application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities
• Being able to lead/support UAT and production roll outs
• Creating, understanding and validating estimated effort for given module/task, and being able to justify it
• Addressing issues promptly, responding positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Giving constructive feedback to the team members and setting clear expectations
• Helping the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex bugs
• Coming up with solutions to any issue that is raised during code/design review and being able to justify the decision taken
• Carrying out POCs to make sure that suggested design/technologies meet the requirements
• Carrying out DevOps activities which includes creating Jenkins pipeline

Key Skills

Should possess hands-on full life-cycle development experience (architect, design, code, test, release) be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, client/server-side development frameworks and third-party libraries.

• Should be strong in data structures and algorithms. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Work with cutting edge technologies like Java 8, Scala, React, Akka, Docker, Puppet, and Salt
• Hands-on knowledge of Spring core, MVC, JPA. Working knowledge of Spring Boot
• Should have strong hands-on on one of the JavaScript frameworks: jQuery, AngularJS, ReactJS, and Vue.js.
• Willing to working with latest Cloud and Container technologies like AWS
• Experience with both external and embedded databases. NoSQL DB experience is good to have
• Implementing unit testing using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, etc.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with Maven (Other building tools Ant and Gradle are good to have)
• Familiarity with continuous integration
• Good understanding of Agile practices

• Own development, design, scaling and maintenance of application and messaging engines that power the central platform of Capillary's Cloud CRM product. 
• Contribute to overall design and roadmap.
• Mentor Junior team members.

Required Skills:

• Innovative and self-motivated with passion to develop complex and scalable applications.
• 3-5 years of experience in software development with strong focus on algorithms and data structures.
• Strong coding and design skills with prior experience in developing scalable & high availability applications using Core Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate. 
• Work experience with Relational databases is required (Primarily MySQL)
• Prior work experience with Non-Relational databases (primarily Redis, MongoDb) is an added plus.
