Software Architect

Symbl is hiring a Software Architect who is passionate about leading cross-functional R&D teams. This role will serve as the Architect across the global organization driving product architecture, reducing information silos across the org to improve decision making, and coordinating with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with other Symbl services.

• You have a track record of designing and building large-scale, cloud-based, highly available software platforms.
• You have 8+ years of experience in software development with 2+ years in an architect role.
• You have experience working on customer-facing machine learning implementations (predictions, recommendations, anomaly detection)
• You are an API first developer who understands the power of platforms.
• You are passionate about enabling other developers through your leadership and driving teams to efficient decisions.
• You have the ability to balance long-term objectives with urgent short-term needs
• You can successfully lead teams through very challenging engineering problems.
• You are domain Expertise in one or more of: Data pipelines and workflow, telephony systems, real time audio and video streaming machine learning.
• You have bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field is a minimum requirement
• You’ll bring your deep experience with distributed systems and platform engineering principles to the table.
• You are passionate about operational excellence and know-how to build software that delivers it.
• You are able to think at scale, define, and meet stringent availability and performance SLAs while ensuring quality and resiliency challenges across our diverse product and tech stacks are addressed with NodeJs as mandatory, Java, Python, Javascript, ReactJS with intersection with ML platform + open source DBs.
• You understand end-user use cases and are driven to design optimal software that meets business needs.

Your day would look like:

• Work with your team providing engineering leadership and ensuring your resources are solving the most critical engineering problems while ensuring your products are scalable, performant, and highly available.
• Focused on delivering the highest quality of services, and you support your team as they push production code that impacts hundreds of Symbl customers.
• Spent time with engineering managers and developers to create and deliver critical new products and/or features that empower them to introduce change with quality and speed.
• Made sure to connect with your team, both local and remote, to ensure they are delivering on engineering and operational excellence.

Purpose of the Role

To design and implement the Peak AI System - a new system of intelligence that allows companies to quickly harness the power of AI.

The Role

Based in Jaipur or Pune, you will be working in a collaborative team on cutting edge technologies in a supportive and dynamic environment. Ultimately you are responsible for building the CODI and on-boarding new clients - this involves:

• Developing a good understanding of the solutions which Peak delivers, and how these link to Peak’s overall strategy.
• Making suggestions towards shaping the strategy for a feature and engineering design.
• Managing own workload and usually delivering unsupervised. Accountable for their own workstream or the work of a small team.  
• Understanding Engineering priorities and is able to focus on these, helping others to remain focussed too
• Acting as the Lead Engineer on a project. Helps ensure others follow Peak processes, such as release and version control.
• An active member of the team, through useful contributions to projects and in team meetings.
• Supervising others. Deputising for a Lead and/or support them with tasks. Mentoring new joiners/interns and Masters students. Sharing knowledge and learnings with the team.

Required Skills and Experience

We are building a team of world class engineers in Jaipur / Pune, essentially we are looking for bright, talented engineers looking to work at the cutting edge of practical AI.

• Acquired strong proven professional programming experience.
• Strong command of Algorithms, Data structures, Design patterns, and Product Architectural Design.
• Good understanding of DevOps, Cloud technologies, CI/CD, Serverless and Docker, preferable AWS 
• Proven track record and expert in one of the field - DevOps/Frontend/Backend
• Excellent coding and debugging skills in any language with command on any one programming paradigm, preferred Javascript/Python/Go
• Experience with at least one of the Database systems - RDBMS and NoSQL
• Ability to document requirements and specifications.
• A naturally inquisitive and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong experience in using AGILE or SCRUM techniques to build quality software.
• Advantage: experience in React js, AWS, Nodejs, Golang, Apache Spark, ETL tool, data integration system, certification in AWS, worked in a Product company and involved in making it from scratch, Good communication skills, open-source contributions, proven competitive coding pro

• Developer with 3-5 years of well-proven experience in Web UI & middleware REST API development using NodeJS and ReactJS
• Must be well versed with using anonymous functions, Prototypes, Call-back functions, promises in Node JS
• Experience in ReactJS component lifecycle and Redux
• Must be able to create and consume data from REST services.
• Experience in Babel and Webpack
• Must be familiar with Github and GitLab
• Must have strong experience in MYSQL, Postgres relational databases and MongoDB.
• Experience in HTML5, CSS3, SASS, LESS is an added advantage
• Experience in GCP, Azure, AWS cloud technologies is an added advantage
• Familiarity with continuous integration

Relevant Experience: 2-6 yrs

• Hands on Experience and manage Node js, Mongo DB, Angular and Express js.
• Architect, Develop, test and deploy robust products that are fast, scalable and highly responsive
• Design and maintain large and complex databases, both relational and non-relational databases.
• Establish, refine and integrate development environment tools and software as needed
• Deploy applications on AWS cloud with ability to quickly debug hosting related issues.
• Expertise in Complete Mean, Node js, Mongo DB, Angular and Express js
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
