About the Role

We're hiring a Full-Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable building a polished Next.js interface and a reliable NestJS API behind it. You'll build customer-facing products, including AI-powered features like chat interfaces, streaming responses, and agent-driven workflows. You'll own features end to end, from database schema to UI, and use AI tools daily to ship faster without lowering the quality bar.

What You'll Do

Frontend

• Build responsive, accessible, high-performance UIs with React, Next.js (App Router, RSC) and TypeScript
• Build AI-facing interfaces: streaming chat UIs, tool-call/agent-status displays, and loading, error, and retry states for non-deterministic outputs
• Monitor web vitals and fix performance regressions

Backend

• Design and build scalable REST/GraphQL APIs and services with Node.js and NestJS
• Model, query, and optimize data in PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, migrations) using an ORM like Prisma or Drizzle
• Implement auth, authorization, validation, background jobs, queues, and caching (Redis)
• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), including streaming (SSE/WebSockets), tool calling, retries, rate limits, and cost/latency control

AI-Assisted Engineering

• Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) for scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, and test writing
• Write and maintain project context for AI tools (rules files, AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md, reusable prompts) so the whole team gets better output
• Review AI-generated code critically for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability

Team and Delivery

• Write unit, integration, and E2E tests, using AI to speed them up rather than skip them
• Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, architecture discussions, and on-call/incident follow-ups
• Document APIs, decisions, and runbooks clearly

Must-Have (Non-Negotiable)

Frontend

• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
• React (hooks, state management, rendering behavior) and Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG/RSC)
• HTML/CSS fundamentals, Tailwind or similar, responsive design, and accessibility basics

Backend

• Production experience with Node.js and a structured framework (NestJS preferred; Express/Fastify with good architecture is fine)
• Solid PostgreSQL skills: relational modeling, joins, indexes, transactions, query optimization
• API design: REST principles, pagination, versioning, error handling, input validation
• Authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2, sessions, RBAC)

Engineering Fundamentals

• Git, PR workflows, and code review habits
• Testing across layers (Jest/Vitest, React Testing Library, API/integration tests; Playwright/Cypress is a plus)
• Basic security awareness (OWASP top 10, secrets management, input sanitization)

AI-Assisted Development

• Daily, hands-on use of at least one AI coding tool (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf, or similar)
• Ability to write clear prompts, give useful context, and break big tasks into steps an AI can handle
• Habit of reviewing, testing, and understanding AI output before committing it
• Basic understanding of how LLMs work: context windows, hallucinations, token cost, and why outputs vary

• Redis, message queues (BullMQ, SQS, Kafka), or event-driven architecture

Prompt to Production is our newest service: organisations empower their workforce to build applications on AI platforms like Lovable, Bolt, and Claude, and we take those applications to secure, production-grade deployments on the client's own cloud — their identity, their policies, their infrastructure. Every release goes through the same governed pipeline: handover → security audit → hardening → deployment. You would own that pipeline.

The role

This is a hybrid delivery-and-product role. Roughly two-thirds is running and improving the Prompt to Production service end to end; the rest is full-stack product engineering on client builds and our own tooling. You'll work directly with the founder, with real autonomy, modern AI tooling as standard, and a clear brief: make the service so repeatable that every deployment is execution, not invention.

What you'll do

• Run the deployment pipeline: take applications built by citizen developers from a GitHub handover through security audit, remediation, hardening, and release to Azure (AWS/GCP as we expand).
• Lead handover calls (30–60 min) with the people who built the apps — understanding what they made, what it touches, and who needs access.
• Execute AI-assisted security audits using Claude Code against our published checklist — auth and authorisation, RLS policies, secrets handling, data exposure, dependency vulnerabilities — and produce our standardised audit report.
• Implement production hardening: migrate authentication to Microsoft Entra ID (tenant-locked app registrations), move secrets into Azure Key Vault, configure CI/CD with GitHub Actions and OIDC federated credentials.
• Own and improve the infrastructure templates (Bicep/Terraform + cloud-init): per-app resource groups, self-hosted Supabase stacks, automated backups to Blob Storage, monitoring with Application Insights.
• Operate live tier 2 stacks: updates, backup verification, restore tests, secret rotation.
• Build product: full-stack features on client engagements and internal tooling — including AI integration work (LLM APIs, agents, structured extraction, evals).
• Make the service better every cycle: tighten the audit checklist, automate the manual steps, improve the templates. Your job is to make your own job smaller.

What you must bring

• 3–6 years as a full-stack engineer with Node.js and TypeScript/React at the core — you're genuinely strong at building product, not just gluing services.
• Must have experience managing and maintaining self-hosted Supabase
• PostgreSQL in production; Supabase experience (RLS, auth, migrations, edge functions) is a significant advantage.
• Real Docker/Compose ownership and CI/CD you've built yourself (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Cloud fundamentals — ideally Azure (VMs, networking, Key Vault, Entra ID); strong AWS/GCP experience with willingness to go deep on Azure also works.
• AI integration experience in shipped products — you've built with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI), understand prompting, structured outputs, and where AI belongs (and doesn't) in a product.
• Security instincts: you think about what an app exposes before you think about what it does.
• Excellent written and spoken English — you'll run client-facing calls and write reports that IT directors file.

The mindset we're hiring for

Product engineering, not ticket-taking. You ask why before how, you'd rather delete a step than document it, you treat every deployment as a chance to improve the system that does deployments, and you're comfortable being the person accountable for something working in production. You already use AI tools as a force multiplier in your daily work — this role assumes it.

We believe that will change. Websites will expose their capabilities directly to agents: structured, testable interfaces that work alongside the human experience. WebMCP is an early step toward that future. Signett is building the developer platform around it.

Our goal is to make creating an excellent agent interface as normal as building an API or testing a user interface.

The foundational product already exists. Signett has a public TypeScript library, documentation, benchmarks, real-world integrations, a website, and a Chrome extension. You would not be joining to turn a slide deck into an MVP. You would be joining to discover what makes a promising product become something developers genuinely adopt.

The opportunity

You would be Signett’s first hire and would have unusual ownership over the product’s direction.

Your job is to run one loop repeatedly:

1. Find an external developer or team with a real reason to make its website agent-ready.
2. Work inside its codebase and ship the integration.
3. Identify what made the process difficult.
4. Fix that friction yourself—in the library, documentation, testing tools, or extension.
5. Publish what you learned so the next integration becomes easier.

You will move between engineering, product discovery, developer experience, and early distribution. There will be no handoff between those functions because, initially, you are the person connecting them.

The work could help establish how developers build and test agent interfaces for the web. It could also reveal that our present assumptions are wrong. Either outcome requires someone who cares more about finding the truth than defending the existing product.

The first 90 days

The initial targets are deliberately concrete:

• Five external teams attempt the 30-minute integration.
• At least three ship a real workflow without founder intervention.
• Two remain active or request a paid capability such as shared history, CI, analytics, or evaluations.
• Two reference integrations and case studies become public.

By the end, we should know which part of Signett developers truly value—exposure, testing, reliable execution, the Inspector, evaluations, or something we have not yet recognized.

You may be a strong fit if you have

The anti-sell

Signett has a product, but it does not yet have proven product-market fit. Adoption is the open question, and answering it is the core of this role.

You should not join if:

• You want a role devoted entirely to writing code handed to you through a roadmap.
• You expect someone else to find users, conduct interviews, write documentation, or publish the work.
• You need a large team, established processes, or daily management to be effective.
• Your experience is primarily managing mature organizations rather than building from ambiguity.
• Your main strength is developer content without production software behind it.
• You want to research or train models rather than build browser-based products developers use.
• The uncertainty of an emerging standard makes you uncomfortable.

This is not a comfortable job with a “founding” title attached to it. It is a chance to take a technically serious, public product and prove—or disprove—that it deserves to become an important company.

How we will start

We begin with a paid four-to-six-week project involving a real external TypeScript application, not a synthetic coding exercise.

The purpose is for both sides to experience the actual work: finding a useful integration, shipping it, learning from developers, and improving Signett. If the collaboration works and the evidence supports continued investment, the intended path is a permanent, full-time role.
